This is the first time in 100 years that a candidate for the Presidency announced the result of an election in which he was defeated and announced the victory of his opponent. I do not think we could have a more striking and eloquent example of the stability of our constitutional system and of the proud tradition of the American people of developing, respecting, and honoring institutions of self-government.

In our campaigns, no matter how hard fought they may be, no matter how close the election may turn out to be, those who lose accept the verdict, and support those who win. And I would like to add that, having served now in Government for 14 years, a period which began in the House just 14 years ago, almost to the day, which continued with 2 years in the Senate and 8 years as Vice President, as I complete that 14-year period it is indeed a very great honor to me to extend to my colleagues in the House and Senate on both sides of the aisle who have been elected; to extend to John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, who have been elected President and Vice President of the United States, my heartfelt best wishes, as all of you work in a cause that is bigger than any man's ambition, greater than any party. It is the cause of freedom, of justice, and peace for all mankind.

Or.

Let's see what Richard Nixon had to say when he was narrowly defeated in 1960 and, as Vice President, oversaw the counting of votes.
Ah yes... disloyalty to one's party.
We used to have some other word for it, "statesmanship" or some such crap. [emoji53]

Wonder why the Supreme Court dismissed the Texas motion?

Kyle Becker ("independent journalist") knows why, and MAGA world is believing him:

SCOTUS.Scales

"I don't give a #@&^ about 'Bush v. Gore'... at that time we didn't have RIOTS!"

A staffer "heard *SCREAMING* through the walls as Justice Roberts & other liberal Justices were insisting this case *NOT* be taken up..."

Wonder why Texas' case was dropped? Here's why:

Firestone, not an independent journalist, just a run-of-the-mill Soros employee, knows that the justices haven't met at the Court in person since March. But other than that, it's all true what Becker claims.

(Extra points for "Justice Roberts & other liberal Justices". :) )

Oh My God! There is some genuine, dyed in the wool, bottom of the barrel, sheer ******* STUPID on display in that twitter thread.

Instead of linking to a stupid right wing website that takes things out of context, and then spins it ridiculously, you could link to the actual transcript of what Krebs told the Senate.

Haven't read it yet? Here it is: https://www.rev.com/blog/transcript...estimony-on-2020-election-security-transcript

Read it, and please don't insult the intelligence of most forum members by quoting selectively and out of context.
I love this link. There's all this flowery rhetoric, all very collegial and then at about 1 hour 20 minutes the hearing devolves into Ron Johnson and Gary Peters sputtering and calling each other liars.

All that hot air before they get to anything interesting.

I'm losing track of which "Trump screams fraud" thread to post this in.

Tommy will be more popular than ever before - a hero!

That’s because he is a great champion and man of courage. More Republican Senators should follow his lead. We had a landslide victory, and then it was swindled away from the Republican Party - but we caught them. Do something!

Looks like Team #Alabama may save the Republic.
Will Tommy Tuberville back Mo Brooks in overturning election?
Tuberville will be a newly-sworn in senator when Brooks brings up his challenge on January 6 to the Electoral College vote in some of the battleground states that voted for President-elect Joe Biden....

Hey Coach @ttuberville, #WeThePeople need you to get on the field and lead in the Senate, @Senatemajldr just walked off the field in the middle of the 3rd Quarter and quit. Take Charge! We have your back!

and your hero will turn into a zero in 3 ... 2 ....

Yeah, Trump is leaving and Mitch is staying and Mitch doesn't want any Senate support for challenges. Why would he? Who would want to lose multiple times in one day when they could just lose once? Good luck with those committee assignments there Tommy.

So Tommy Tuberville now has his picture in the dictionary under the word "useful idiot"

Is it really "disrespect" when their analysis is actually exactly right? To disrespect someone implies that you should have respected them in the first place. What is there about these idiots that is deserving of respect?

More analysis of the Insurrection Act nonsense.

MAGA leaders call for the troops to keep Trump in office [politico.com]
An 1807 law invoked only in the most violent circumstances is now a rallying cry for the MAGA-ites most committed to the fantasy that Donald Trump will never leave office.

The law, the Insurrection Act, allows the president to deploy troops to suppress domestic uprisings — not to overturn elections.

you can feign respect, at least pretend that your army of idiots won't just blindly believe whatever you tell them.
