Cont: 2020 Presidential Election part 3

I had 6 "Soil and Water Conservation Managers" on my ballot, I sympathize.

Ballot measure: It is proposed to change the official title 'Soil and Water Conservation Manager' to 'Dirt & Drip Master'. Completely fill in oval to the left for 'Yes' or 'No'.

Pompeo sounds like a hostage telling the press how well he's being treated by his torturers.
This is dangerous stuff and I'm not sure he believes what he's saying.

The man will be out of a job in two and a half months. He should have kept his damn mouth shut. If he has future political aspirations, which I think he does, this will come back to bite him in the ass.

I can grok people voting in the major election and not voting in the mid-term, but at times it almost sounds like we're supposed to believe people go into a voting booth and vote one some elections on that ballot but not others which doesn't make any kind of sense.

I've done it. There are contests where I feel I don't feel I am familiar enough with the candidates and/or the issues so I simply pass on it.

On my ballot most of the bottom was people running unopposed. I could see a lot of people skipping those also.

Again I'm not talking about not voting for "3rd Assistant Roadkill Scraper" or some ballot measure or whatever.

I'm talking about the big ones; President, Senator, House Rep, Governor, maybe state legislatures. Surely if you've dragged your hinder to the voting booth you're vaguely familiar with them.

I don't "carry his water". I just run out of patience for the inane overreactions that leave any vestige of reason behind.

I do the same thing on nearly any subject... but the topic selection here is quite one-sided, so there's not much opportunity to see me doing things like telling my niece that no, Biden isn't a rapist - he's weirdly huggy with young girls and seems to like kissing people's heads and smelling their hair, which is creepy, but he's not a rapist.

I was really hoping that when Trump lost, common sense (and decency) would reassert themselves. Sure, I know, he's still hollering into the wind... but I'm disappointed that the rest of you(g) otherwise intelligent folks haven't let it go and moved on to being rational again.

We're watching Trump continue to be irrational, with the collusion and support of the leaders of the GOP. And at great cost to the welfare and future of the country.

It doesn't have anything to do with us. Aside from concern that the nightmare isn't over yet.

That's not irrational, that's just recognising the reality of the situation.

Trump and the GOP are attempting a coup but the courts aren't going along with it, so far. They're rattling sabers, but those sabers are of the plastic toy kind.

Still doing a lot more damage to the trust in the electoral process then I'm comfortable "getting over" for a while.

I'd prefer it if links were provided. Sometimes I'd like to get more context. I know, it's twitter, so a lot of times there isn't any more context. But sometimes there is.

"Context"? For a Trump twit in a Trump account?

You know what you ought to do? You ought to go and submerge yourself in the sewage of those accounts for a few days. After you do, come back and tell us about how much "context" you found.

I expect you'll find yourself filled with gratitude that CS is willing to take a bullet for us all, and try to pick out the pieces that are relevant to our discussions.

Kind of like looking for the pieces of corn in a river full of turds.

Too right. They are damaging US democracy on a quest that should it succeed, would destroy US democracy. It's something that the Biden administration should pursue charges for.

That's why I'm eating zero crow if the GOP or SCOTUS does smack Trump down hard at some final step and the Trumpers start doing some big "See a check & balance stopped him you were worried about nothing" dance.

After spending lots of time on social media that's the most sophisticated defense of Trump's behavior I've heard so far. Trump's not as bad as you think he is because Congress and the courts or his advisors will stop his excesses.
