And make no mistake, for the record, he is not losing because of ballots that arrived after election day.

These are mostly ballots that arrived BEFORE election day, but are not being counted until after. Because of the laws of the state that prevent counting before. Which were created by republicans.

It is the republican state legislatures' fault that these ballots are being counted now.

I also don't think the public would stand for it and they know it. This would destroy the idea the US is a democracy. As much as the majority Republican court likes the idea of the president being a Republican, its just too far to go.

I'll be suprised if they even agree to hear the case.

Actually I don't care what he says. Any sane, normal thing is fine. I expect to hear a commitment to following the process, but stressing that there is a process that doesn't depend on who tweets what.

I'll admit (in a moment of weakness) that part of me wants him to come out and make fun of Trump the way Trump made fun the disabled guy.

Yeah, I get that. There is such a thing as unnamed sources, but being unnamed they also can be fictional.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me that members of SCOTUS have made it known how they feel about overturning the electorate especially when the loser is down by 3 and a half million votes.

Yes, there's no chance that Trump can get the election overturned by SCOTUS or anyone else. I may not be American, but I know what America stands for.

I would love to see this whole mess come before the Court, and see them shoot him down 9-0. With the all-time greatest stinging rebuke from Chief Justice Roberts.

Do you have confidence that a majority of the justices on SCOTUS know what America stands for.

Still, I know one thing - if the SCOTUS overturns the result and gives it to the ex-President, then that will be the start of the second American civil war.

Sometimes being President can mature a person. Unfortunately Trump is a kid who refuses to grow up, regardless of the circumstances.

I wonder whether spending months telling Trump supporters to vote in person and not by mail might have something to do with the fact that main-in votes favour Biden more than in-person votes do?

Some states limit it to election day and other States like Washington State include all ballots postmarked by election day received within 17 days of the election because that's when they certify it.

I keep thinking there is really no one other than the Trump family and a few diehards like Giuliani who are heavily invested in indulging all of Donald's whims. If I were a Trump-appointed justice I sure wouldn't want to be perceived as confirming Trump's belief that he has "fixed" the court. I know that in theory each lawsuit is to be litigated on its merits so yes let the process grind on but hopefully state election officials have been as careful as possible and we will soon have results that absolutely withstand all reasonable and prudent scrutiny.

I agree, the Justices all pride themselves on their jurisprudence, regardless of their political leanings, they are not lapdogs.

I can't argue with you here, but it makes me sad to contemplate this. I hope for a better result.
