I think GA officials have stated that there will be a recount regardless of what happens now. There aren't a ton of votes left to count, so it'll remain a narrow margin.

ETA: Although the margin is over 4K now, so a recount will likely not change anything.

I don't expect much gains on the military absentee ballots for either candidate. These guys didn't have a choice to vote in person or by mail so it's much more reflective of the national average than the rest of the mail ins.

Does he think that Trump will be President come February?

Does he fear being primaried if he steps out of line ?

GA will have a recount because the margin is less than 0.5%. That's a law in their state.

Pretty close to what he ranted on CNN. As I noted upthread: Penn vote counting was live-streamed at the time Cruz was ranting projecting about secret vote counting.

Cruz has neither character nor a moral compass, so he feels that Trump is his spirit animal.

These margins are absolutely insane. No way to tell what could happen in a recount with a vote this close.

Well I think he has plenty of time to distance himself from Trump when it comes time for his next election if needed, but if against all odds Trump does retain the presidency there's maybe a huge payoff. He's just hedging bets right now I think.

That or he's a true believer.

I've seen the two versions five times now! I think the version before last is spoilt by Trumpler saying he'd be back for 2024. A bit of an anti-climax as Hitler topped himself in a bunker.

The second version brings in Covid, the former names names, which I think works better. I like that Ivanka was named rather than 'don't cry' [about his being banned from Twitter].

I like the caps for when he starts shouting.

ETA: To be fair to the politicians, the only reason it's a scam is that voters reward them for paying lip service to the concept, but punish them when they follow through on it. We have met the enemy, and they are us.

Cruz was clear about this when he was running for president. Many Republicans in the 2016 primary did not talk **** about Trump because they predicted he would say something stupid and flame out (they were only right about the first part). What they wanted to do was position themselves for a Trump endorsement and take his voters. This led to an impressive collective action problem. By the time Rubio and Cruz started to go negative against Trump, it was too late.

I don't think Cruz's venal behavior is explained by wanting to be re-elected. Cruz wants to be president. I think he even remarked something about world domination as a high schooler. He's more dangerous Trump.

Yes, there's no doubt that voters are complicit. We need to be smarter.

Joe Biden should not wrongfully claim the office of the President. I could make that claim also. Legal proceedings are just now beginning!
