2020 Presidential Election part 2

There's going to come a point soon where Trump is going to say or do something even more wacky and dangerous, and the republican party leadership is going to full blown abandon him. They have political futures and he doesn't. They have election in 2 and 4 years but he doesn't. They are not likely going to prison but he is. They are not going to throw everything away for him.

Also, Biden has just taken the lead in Pennsylvania.

It's official: Trump has no plans to concede, even when it's clear he has no path to victory. What a douche.

ETA: "Official" meaning this was reported by the CNN White House correspondent after speaking with Trump's people.

The answer is to have the lead so big that it won't be affected.

Pennsylvania by 50k makes it all pretty moot. At that point, Georgia won't matter or Nevada or Arizona.

That makes the "path to victory" meaning overturn another state AND Pennsylvania, and that won't happen.

I think the Fat Lady is almost through warming up.

Seems to me that there's one more number that has to be sung before she takes the stage.

Somewhere between 1-4 recounts will have to be performed, with plenty of litigation, and featuring plenty of "singing" from one fat, orange, man, in a type of performance never before seen by opera-goers in this style of opera before.

Meanwhile, in Georgia, even after what we have been calling "all" of the votes are counted, there are still more votes to count. Late arriving overseas, military, provisional, and "cured" ballots are yet to be counted the first time, and they will all have to be counted the second time.

Oh my, so he has. By 6,000 votes, no less.

I'd still like to see a victory in Arizona and Nevada. I would like to have one recount worth of "buffer" just in case.

The good thing is, he doesn't need a plan. The plan is already written in the law. And since he is all about LAW AND ORDERRRR !!111!!1, it's going to be just fine.

Isn't it?

Can they disown him ?

If they do, they risk losing the Trump base and that would cost them dearly in future elections. They would run the risk of being "primaried" by a Trumpist challenger.

To be fair, at this point, no one would concede. There will be, and should be, recounts, I don't think anyone would concede at this point.

And all the legal experts are saying the so far Trump's charges of fraud are ridiculous because of total lack of evidence.
he can file all he wants, but sounds to me like his legal chances are low.

Trump's problem is the sheer scale of the legal mountain he has to climb and so far his efforts haven't even gotten him out of base camp. I know the dice are loaded in the Supreme Court but are even they going to be will to break the entire system just to save Trump?

I think you're missing the full message. He won't concede even when it's clear that he's lost.

Many Republicans actually seem to believe that Trump, the most crooked, self-serving liar in American politics, respects the rule of law ... which I find bizarre.

*exhales*

The writing's been on the wall for a couple of days, but having it finally called is an important step. It changes the dialogue for challenges from "I've won! / We don't know that yet" to "I've won! / No you didn't, get over it."

My favorite replacement for the electoral college that still promotes the idea of weighting states by population is to just weight the votes from the state.

If you want votes to count for 18.3 times as much as california, just multiply their votes. You can also develop a formula independent of the number of seats in congress.
