About 500,000 Australians has signed a petition calling for a Royal Commission
to look into Rupert Murdoch's media empire. Not sure what that's all about but
it's a nice break from the nail biter.
 
Just had a nightmare thought;
Remember the final scene with President Greg Stillson in "The Dead Zone" where he basically blows up the world in a crazed Temper Tantrum????
Godi, I hope, if Trump loses, the Pentagon people have some safeguards in place.

It'll be very, very interesting to see what Trump gets up to from now until he has to vacate the White House in January.

It will have no impact. Both sides here are **** scared of Murdoch. The Sky “News” channel down here is a carbon copy of Fox “News”.
 
His bigotry and anti-islamic rhetoric appeals to them. Indian casteism has a lot of parallels with white-supremacy when it comes to rhetoric and ideologies.

OT: That's not the final scene in The Dead Zone. The protagonist John Smith attends a Stillson rally when the latter is running for congress. When he grabs Stillson's hand, he sees that Stillson will eventually become POTUS and initiate the nuclear holocaust.

If my memory serves, at around the same time Smith finds out that he's dying, and he decides that he has to stop Stillson at any cost. He buys a rifle and goes hiding in a balcony in a Stillson rally building. When the rally starts, he shoots Stillson and misses. The scared Stillson grabs a baby and holds it up as a shield, and Smith can't bring himself to fire a second shot. There is, however, a journalist there who captures Stillson holding up the baby with his camera. Stillson's security guards shoot Smith, who falls down from the balcony; just before dying, he manages to grab Stillson's hand and sees him sitting alone, disgraced and broken, eating a shotgun.

They overlook that a lot of Trump's Fundy Chrsitina Followers are as anti Hinduism as they are anti Islam.
One thing is usre, recent events have shown the Hinduism making such a big deal about how tolerent a religion it is is a crock. It can be just as bigoted as any other religion.

You might be right. Been while since I have seen the movie. But that seen of Stillson laughing as he blows up the world has stuck with me.

They need to drop Newt and Hannity. They're advocating some treasonous stuff on national TV.

This just brings home for me the soul-crushing cultural significance of Trump. ****-holes, Making America Great Again, Draining the Swamp. He didn't originate these terms but he's popularized them, and they're not going to go away soon.
 
Imagine if Trump had Biden's current lead. Trump supporters would undoubtedly claim: "Why hasn't the media called it for Trump yet? This would NEVER happen if Biden were ahead."
