It's not trump claiming victory that is causing the uproar, but he wanting to stop the vote count.

Just to poke at this... in 2016, California apparently took a month to count its primary votes. In 2018, I think that finishing the counting took quite a while, too.

Given California, NOT taking at least a few days this time would be more surprising.

Yes, I've been posting updates all night. Someone here asked how I was getting the info 10 minutes before he saw it. NYT is lagging big tie with their updates, and it's been like that all night.

Biden at 30c, Trump at 72c.

Biden's not out, but it's much better to be in Trump's position.

The Georgia Sec. of State has 100% precincts reporting in DeKalb, with the same vote total that the NYT says is only 80% of the county. The DeKalb vote in 2016 was 300,000 votes. The SOS shows 317,000.

DeKalb is done.

Same with Fulton

The SOS shows 96% of precincts now reporting, and Biden leading 320,000 to 120,000. But now only a handful of ballots remain. NYT shows that same total vote, but says it is 80%.

Trump still with a lead of 120,000 votes
 
GA, WI, MI, and PA are all counting millions of mail in ballots. Pretty tight races.

That is not the worst outcome. An dictatorship would be the worst outcome, or a banana republic like Russia with phony elections.
 
One bit I find weird is there seems to be no shift group of counters.

You would think it would hit night time and a different group would work counting over night.

But everyone just goes to bed
 
When you come from a whole country of 5 million the numbers being rolled out are a bit freaky in size.

Florida is a good example of a populous state counting votes in a timely way. They seem to have their crap together this time and results tonight were very early (though it took forever to actually call it).

California allows ballots postmarked by Nov 3 so it can take days...and then all of it will be certified even later when ALL of the ballots from overseas come in as well and everything is verified as legit. So if you look at previous years for most states the 'certification' dates will be later than you'd expect but a winner known long before that.
