And as everyone knows, a key demographic where Trump is slipping compared to 2016 are senior citizens.

So here's the pitch!

More than 400k likes for this bs

As someone remarked: "Really seems like now the only voting block Trump isn’t willing to mock is white supremacists." https://twitter.com/secupp/status/1316205202601660417

In response to this trump tweet Jeff Flake tweeted

@JeffFlake
Fellow Republicans, this is what our President tweeted tonight.
We are better than this. We have to be better than this.

Poor Jeff. He is catching it from both sides after his tweet.

From trump supporters claiming he is a traitor or was never a republican.
From the other side he is being asked why he didn't speak up earlier when he was still a Senator.

(bolding mine)

I see this kind of reactions a lot on Twitter, also in regard to Lincoln Project types.
While I understand them, now may not be time for this.
Biden and down ballot Democrats need every vote they can get, including votes from disaffected or disgusted Republicans.

What they did before is what it is. Even what they do now is not always very tasty, like how many of them defend Barrett and ridicule the threat to ACA.

But, as the good book says, there is a time to be silent and a time to speak.

Let's speak about the weakness of Flake as senator, the hypocrisy of many "moderate" Republicans who seemed unaware of the underlying racism in GOP policies (well before Trump), etc...
But let's do it after Biden is elected and the Senate is flipped (if these happen, of course).
For now, let them vote, let them be "compagnons de route".

The Republicans are super-pragmatic and super-opportunistic. The Democrats and their Twitter fans should at least learn that from them. For the next 19 days, that is.

Trump Tweets
At what point is @Facebook election meddling?
Quote Tweet

Stephen L. Miller
@redsteeze
Facebook comms, who is former DCCC announces that they are intentionally hiding the NY Post story on its platform without stating any reasoning.

Shortly after the @Facebook Communications director admitted they were shadow banning today's Biden exposé, @Twitter has now completely blocked the story from their platform.
Big Tech is trying to steal an election.

Had to see for myself lol. Twitter is meddling in the 2020 election by covering up corruption and lies from its preferred candidate. It will not even let me tweet the link as a Tinyurl. This is YUGE. #Biden #BidenCrimeFamily

Trump is violating Twitter's Terma and Conditions on a daily basis.

I would argue that Twitter is meddling in the election by NOT banning him.

The President is Republican. The Senate is Republican. The majority of governors are Republican. Just who in the hell are they taking it back *FROM*??

Sane people is the only answer I can come up with.

Generally those claims made in that position the answer would be the jews.

Again this is why they whole "Deep State/New World Order/Evil Jews" nonsense, both full on Qanon B.S. and lighter versions of it, have been so popular with the Right in recent years. The narrative they are pushing still needs a villain in there somewhere.

But also Trumpism is a religion and Christianity has been chugging along for a couple thousand years now on the back of a pure, simple "Well God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and all powerful but... well there's still evil in the world because God somehow has a vastly less powerful arch enemy so let's just pretend like makes sense or works" or "because we deserve it because we don't listen to God enough" so I'm sure it has plenty of steam in just chugging along on "We have to save the country from... somebody just roll with it."

At the core, Q and Trumpism is the result of having to reconcile the cognitive dissonances caused by realizing that your entire value system is morally bankrupt.
The only way not to be "the baddies" is that the others are way worse.

It is telling that the Trump crowd believes that the only thing that could possibly be worse than them are literal child rapists/murderers.

Not just that, but a secret global cabal of them.

And not the one that actually exists, but the ones they are making up in the basements of pizza parlors and Wayfair catalogs.

I think that's very true. It partly explains why we se so many whataboutisms from the Trump supporters.

Lindsey Graham: My opponent has raised 57 million dollars. The most in the history of the US Senate because they want to take me out.

Lindsey Graham: “I think people in South Carolina are excited about Judge Barrett. I don’t know how much it affected fundraising today, but if you want to help me close the gap…I think the contest in South Carolina has taken on sort of a national profile.”

It’s illegal to solicit campaign contributions inside a federal building.

Jeff Flake is one of those Republicans who hates Trump personally, but loves his justices and judges and tax cuts. And that's what counts.
