I’ve been going back and forth on whether I should just vote in person. I did the mail-in thing for the midterms and it was a nail-biter until the early votes were counted. I don’t think it should be that way. If there is any chance those won’t be treated as real, robust votes is it worth the convenience?

I’m not taking any chances. Early voting here starts Monday and I’ll be in line as soon as they open.

We have mail in only and I'll be mailing mine in as I've done for the last 30 years without a problem. But I'll do it ASAP.

A fair number of Pennsylvania residents whose current employment depends on fracking. It's a swing state thing.

ETA: At least, that's what the GOP figures. They're pushing the anti-fracking stance of some Democrats because they think it will help them keep Pennsylvania in the Trump side of the count.

Right now the figures are 20,000 to 50,000 Jobs in PAbut there was indication that direct jobs were down to under 5,000 as of late 2019.

That being said, these are the folks who think coal will come back, and Trumps margin of victory was small in PA. On the other hand, folks who depend on fracking were more likely to vote Trump anyway.

I think a lot of this depends on just how long the GOP is willing to remain committed to Trump. This course of action would in effect be a coup, and considering the train wreck that is currently the Trump administration, that will be a tough sell to the majority of the electorate. Republicans having been walking a thin line up until now. A move like this puts them all in.

Remember that many of those GOP persons you are referring to are in Trump's cult.

Listening to today's 15 minute speech (looked like he was stressing at the end but I don't think he's crashing) and at his actions all along, I think he knows full well he's going to lose. So he's setting the stage for some stupid challenge of results.

I don't think he's willing to think about the facts, you don't appeal to the SCOTUS, you have to challenge state by state. It's only going to happen if there is one state needed, two at the most. Maybe Trump still thinks he's going to pull off those miracle wins by a narrow margins.

It doesn't register in his brain that these are mistakes that were all caught. Of course it doesn't register among the cult followers either.

Once again, he's setting the stage to challenge the election outcome.

He also doesn't know that the first one, the mayoral candidate, is a REPUBLICAN.

So [Trump's] setting the stage for some stupid challenge of results.

This helps make sense of some bizarre behavior. Why the hell is he going on Limbaugh and Hannity with less than thirty days left in the election? He's already got the base locked up (or as locked up as they'll ever be). He needs to reach out to undecideds, and one of the best ways to get them is to appear in a presidential debate.

I don't think there's a coherent plan, but he'll need to activate the base in order to cast doubt on the election.

He knows he's going to lose. He needs a fired up base for the legal challenge.

FiveThirtyEight has Trump-Biden's chances at 14-85, but also report that Trump's slip seems to be levelling out.
Don't worry, though, he has three and a half weeks to mess things up even further.

Polls may not be that good for Trump right now, but the much coveted Taliban endorsement he just got may well be a gamechanger.

Hmm. Trump does like despots, but the Talibans are also Muslims, so he'll probably not praise them too much, the way he does Putin and Kim Jong-Un.

There is that famous theory, that I can't help but subscribe to, that he was (also) trying to lose in 2016. Only that time, he was probably using the presidential campaign to get attention, whereas this time he possibly doesn't care, because he has his actual hopes set on sabotaging the election and challenging the results.

So, lessee here...Trump has the endorsements of the the KKK, the Proud Boys, the American Nazi Party, The Traditionalist Worker Party, Neo-Nazis, The American Freedom Party, etc. What do they all have in common? They are all hate groups and white supremacists. What more could a President of the US possibly need? Oh, yes. The endorsement of the Taliban. Good lord.

ABC News has confirmed that attendees to Trump WH Rally were paid.

Apparently so.
Some guests for Saturday's White House event on the South Lawn, which will be President Donald Trump's first since testing positive for the coronavirus, had their travel and lodging paid for by controversial conservative activist Candace Owens' group BLEXIT, according to emails obtained by ABC News.

Since almost all of the attendees were black, I rather suspected Candace Owens was involved. It's pretty bad when you have to pay people to get them to attend.

If you feel you can vote in person safely, I'd recommend it at this point. It's a foregone conclusion that Trump will at least try to block mail in votes, so the more in-person votes Biden can get, the better.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as a lot of us are expecting it to be, but then, we've been hoping that for four years now, and look where it's gotten us.
