Trump and Melania test positive test positive for Covid 19

Re:poll showing most people blame trump for not taking steps to protect himself from covid...

who cares about Trump protecting himself?

As President, he should have made sure to protect others.
Yes he should have protected others.

My chief concern was in how it would affect the election. If it was thought that trump was a helpless victim of the disease that couldn't be stopped it might have given him some sympathy and increased his poll numbers. Since most people blame him for it happening to himself he won't get that sympathy and this less chance to see a bump in the polls.

A secondary concern is that if people see trump as causing his own problems, they may pay a bit more attention to their own precautions. I.e. MAGAchuds thinking "masks may not be so bad after all".

Most importantly for Biden, this brings the attention back to where it belongs and stops the Trump Propaganda Machine to redirect to AntiFa etc.

No, it won't. Haven't they already accused left-wing liberals of having contaminated Trump's microphone?!

Tbf it was quite funny reading the oxygen conspiracy theory for a bit and just watching the reaction.
It is so obvious to me now. Trump is wearing an earpiece! And that funny thing he did with his hand on the rail as he border the helicopter was him telling them to scroll the teleprompter!

with what?
Coronavirus.
Back to key election agrument.

No, it seems clear to me that Trump and plenty of Republicans getting sick helps Biden and the Dems as long as Biden doesn't get it.

The people who believe that are the people who would vote for Trump if he shot someone on 5th Avenue. Just because they say it, doesn't mean it gets traction.

Guess it depends on whether you think older people should catch a global pandemic and celebrate it in a weird sadistic joy.

Even if you don't like the bloke like most people it would seem a tad odd. But each to their own.

I’m struggling with this.

I would never wish suffering on another human being. “Ask not for whom the bell tolls...it tolls for thee” and all that.

And yet, Trump getting sick with COVID-19 seems somehow “right”. I’m thinking in terms of...

Karma

Greek Tragedy

Just Desserts

Shakespearean

Feel free to add to the list!

“Trumpian” means many different things to many different people. Depending on how this turns out, I think it may come to be most commonly used in this context, such as “Trumpian comeuppance”. We shall see.

"White House aides and officials continued to blatantly ignore medical advice and remained maskless Friday, even as some of them discussed Donald Trump contracting Covid-19.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and even Trump’s health adviser Dr Scott Atlas mingled with people at the White House complex without wearing masks or even having one on their necks to use.

Top economic adviser Larry Kudlow told reporters at the White House how important “masking” is — but he didn’t have one. Kudlow put one on when a reporter pointed out the discrepancy."

Are these people arrogant or ignorant? Actually standing there lecturing how important it is to wear a mask, whilst not wearing a mask.

Most are simply doing a trade-off calculation: wearing no mask might give you Covid, but being seen by Trump wearing one will get you on his ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊.

They are demonstrating that they are too stupid to be in the positions of power they hold. And too stupid, in fact, to be in charge of a knife and fork.

Where are they seeing that ?

OTOH back in 2016 when Hillary had pneumonia....

They're seeing it wherever they can find anything that even remotely resembles it. For one example, there's some pearl-clutching about (among other things) a Washington Post tweet that asked readers to "imagine what it will be like never to think about Trump again”- according to Bongino, that tweet constituted "fantasies about Trump’s death." Two problems-

The opinion piece it linked to was written and posted before the news broke [that Trump tested positive].

and

The article itself, by Eugene Robinson, is actually an appeal for Americans to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden to “remove this awful man from our collective headspace.”

“If you are like me and you watched Tuesday’s debate with a voice in your head screaming make it stop, take heart: We have the power to do just that. We can evict President Trump from the territory he has forcibly seized in our minds. We can — we must — vote him out of our thoughts,” Robinson wrote.

There is concern now in Republican circles that there won't be enough votes to ram through the Barrett confirmation because too many senators will be out sick or quarantined with Covid.

Maybe they'll rethink their opposition to voting by mail ...

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but maybe if they see an example of a stupid CT being spread about their own guy, they'll realize how stupid they look when they spread the same kind of stupidity about everyone else.

Yeah, it's this. We're always trying to figure out what these idiots actually believe. And this seems conclusive - they actually believe their BS about the virus not being that bad, and that masks and social distancing are useless. Do you really think that Trump would have put himself at risk if he really understood what was going on?

If he doesn't take this seriously enough to protect himself, there's no way he's going to protect others. He's not the guy who'd run into a burning building, remember.

The single thing that would upset me if he died is that religion is bunkum, so there's no chance of him screaming in agony for millennia. Racist, sexist, serial sexual assaulting, disabled-mocking, fraudster... the bloke deserves every bad thing that could possibly happen.
"There is a God" was trending on Twitter.

Will Trump turn to religion on his deathbed?
