Another Antifa Call for Violence

More false-flag incidents. Nazis are very good at this.

I remain skeptical about this. The source is the cops regurgitating an unnamed tipster.

Cops lie, like a lot. They have been caught numerous times lying about "outside agitators" and white provocateurs.

There has been a lot of speculation about this guy since day 1, and I tend to agree this guy is very suspect, but I can't accept the cop's word on this without evidence. Their credibility on these matters is trash.

Reporting makes it sound like there may be an arrest soon. Perhaps there will be verifiable evidence soon.

Joe Rogan apologizes for fake news:

"There is a madness going on there," Rogan said during the Thursday episode. "You want to talk about madness of crowds. That exemplifies that right now. They have arrested people for lighting forest fires up there. They have arrested left-wing people for lighting these forest fires. You know, air quote, activist, and this is also something that is not widely being reported."
As CNN's Brianna Keilar said on CNN Newsroom Friday, that topic is not being widely reported because it is "not true."
"What has been reported is that there are local and state officials all through the region who have been coming out and refuting these conspiracy theories," she added.
Joe Rogan spread dangerous misinformation about fires. Now he says he's sorry (CNN, Sep. 18, 2020)

Lots of fake news. What about the 12 arrests in Oregon? Million dollar bails for all those arraigned. No new protests since. ???

Million dollar bail was in Pennsylvania, and has since been reduced.

Lack of protest interest probably has to do with attention being focused on massive wildfires in the area.

If the right-wing outrage machine hadn't heard of Anti-fa from Portland, they would have accused Transsexuals instead.

Protests in DC are ongoing - of course, those don't feature right wing lunatics driving around and attacking people, or "black bloc" pseudo-anarchists setting fires to anything, so they're mostly ignored.

What does that get categorized as "dangerous"? I mean, misinformation seems a bit purposefully exaggerated, given that Rogan says factually wrong things a lot - not on purpose, just because he's got it wrong. So what makes it "dangerous"?

Oh, no: they need antifa desperately. They would have manufactured it if it didn't exist. Well, they kind of are anyway.

They simply have to frame anti-fascism as the enemy, and that's one tall-ass order to fill. By painting them as the enemy of the State, then the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and tah-dah! Fascists are the good guys!

Seriously, this **** creeps me out.

Don't you think it's dangerous to feed the right-wing vigilantes more (fake) reasons to kill antifas?
People are warned against sharing fake news on social media. Joe Rogan has a much bigger audience than most people, so that makes it particularly dangerous when he is sharing it - on purpose! (I.e. he shared it, deliberately, without knowing that it was a lie, but he also didn't check.)
However, kudos for apologizing and setting it straight.

Is it more or less dangerous than the frequent description of people as racists and nazis and deplorables because they're republicans, or even independents?

ETA: At the moment, I see a lot of things being depicted as "dangerous" when they really are just "unpleasant". It drives yet more division and partisanship, because it casts every disagreement as intentionally malicious and as an imminent threat.

Correct, toxic partisanship is a bad thing on both sides.

Yea they just retweet them to promote their ideology, there is nothing wrong with that or supporting it. You can't think that endorsing white supremacist tweets is a problem right?

Yeah, those poor misrepresented Republicans and Independents marching down the street with their Tiki Torches and chants of "Blood and Soil" and "Jews will not replace us." How could anyone mistakenly mistake such good people for Racists, Nazis, and Deplorables.

You're kind of making my point here.

You're rather strongly imply that you are not "misrepresenting" republicans and independents at all... because they're all racists, nazis, and deplorables.

You extend Some A are B to mean All A are B, and see no problem with that. You also, by the way, seem to ignore that Some C are B too.

Way to totally miss my point. Let me be quite clear here. If you walk around with a bunch of Alt-Right Nazi's and White Supremacists spouting the same Nazi and White Supremecy slogans, retweeting their tweets, and acting in ways that are racist and downright deplorable, then no, you're not a "good person." You are showing your colours as a Racist and a Deplorable and, at least, a wannabe Nazi. You can't act like and sound like a Nazi and then claim that you are really "just being an Independent, really, truly, and it's unfair to judge me by my Tiki Torch."
