Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 25

At the latest rally, Trump suggest that Biden will receive an injection of performance enhancing drugs “in the ass” before the debates.

Because he keeps bringing this up, I'm sure now that this will be his escape clause for not debating Biden.

Biden should offer to take a drug test before the debate as long as trump takes one too.

There's no way Trump will want that.

According to OAN Trumps 'Long history of random acts of kindness goes unreported by the mainstream media'

No examples were forthcoming though.

From the Rally

"Your love your president, and your president gets honored, because I'm being not honored, you are being honored , with the Nobel Peace Prize"
He is now talking as though he has actually won a Nobel.

He said that as a condition of TikTok's sale, he tried to shake down Oracle to put $5 billion into a fund "so we can educate people as to the real history of our country, the real history, not the fake."

"We are taking school funds away from these crazy schools that are teaching horrible things. Bad things, actually. We will teach our children the truth about America: That we are the most exceptional nation on the face of the Earth & we are getting better every single day"

Trump's Fayetteville crowd is totally silent as he tells rambling, unending stories about Boeing and generals that call him "sir." Completely bonkers.

"The aircraft carriers that cost 10 times more than they should cost, and then they use, you know, the electric catapults. You've heard that, right? They don't want to use steam. Why? B/c it's too simple. B/c it works. B/c it's better, Elevators that are operated by magnets."

Yes, folks, he is YOUR president.

Nope. Coll9ins is already in the biggest re-election battle she has ever had. A vote to approve will be her last and she knows it. She, among all the others, is the one I count on most.

It's possible that she'll maintain her stance. If I understand her voting history correctly, though, she has quite the history of reversing course if her vote actually matters.

I have no faith in her.

Going further, politically, there's more than one side to this. If she supports Trump/McConnell, her opposition will be energized even more and some fence-sitters will desert her. If she doesn't, she'll be alienating the people who are most likely to vote for her.

They don't want history to be taught; they want a 1950's Cinemascope Widescreen Color Epic version of history as written by the victors losers.

FTFY.

Instead of the rambling clown they cheered enthusiastically in 2016 they're stuck with this rambling clown.

It's like when you make your bed and then it turns out you have to sleep in it, too.

The predictive keyboard president.

Don't hold your breath. You'll be a skeleton long before she breaks party ranks. Her schtick has always been to put on a concerned face and express "deep concern" over whatever anti-democratic measures the republicans are pushing and then to turn around and be the first to vote for them. Her voting with Trump record is at 94% and she always had high party line voting records, no matter how wrong she publicly said the thing she was voting for was.

Not a serious attempt at assassination, if that's what you're thinking: ricin isn't effective by mere contact, and it's unlikely anybody at the White House is in the habit of immediately eating, inhaling, or injecting whatever they receive unsolicited in the mail. At a party, perhaps, but not through the mail.

Inside job then?

In the past seven presidential elections (soon to be eight), Republican candidates managed to win the popular vote just once. Obama served for eight years and appointed two Justices; Trump might appoint three in just one term. It's just stupid.

As someone commented on Twitter: “contrary to our supposedly pragmatic nature, american institutions are revered in proportion to how much they do not work.”

And that one time was only "won" by some very heavy cheating, voter supression, non counting of votes, deliberately putting broken voting machines in Democrat voting areas and the resumption of Jim Crow era "voting tests".

Then on top of all that he had the gall to claim the election was rigged -- by the Democrats.

To be fair, though, the target in this case was particularly stupid.
Unfortunately he hasn't replaced the Secret Service, too, with grifters and family members, so the package probably never reached him in the first place.

I'd love to hear an example or this happening.

Government shutdown. Wall stuff. Multiple things related to COVID. "Liberate <state>." Those just to start, really.

To be fair, there's a lot more in the way of feedback loop between Trump and Fox than anything adversarial - especially when it comes to the relationship between Trump and Hannity, who's been known at times as basically a shadow chief of staff. Still, to be clear, are you actually seriously not aware of how influenced by Fox News Trump is? The sheer number of tweets reacting to one thing or another that was on Fox, alone, should clue you in a bit on the influence there.

I also hope things keep getting better. Will the long-term damage be in 30 years the history books saying "Trump was actually a Russian agent who infiltrated the White House to end the sanctions on Russia."?

If the damage was limited to just something of that level, it would be lovely.

That's nonsense, because it was testing for people of equal wealth. That'd be even better if it showed equal happiness controlled for differences in depression and other mental illnesses. lol

Hmm? So, shall I assume that all you were actually doing was trying to cherry pick, then, rather than reading what was said for understanding and comprehension?

Being happy under ******** life circumstances makes you more mentally healthy, than someone that bases their mood on externals.

I disagree. Facing reality is more a sign of good mental health than running away from the truth with self-delusion. It's when you can handle reality well with as little self-delusion as possible (it's effectively impossible to get rid of all self-delusion, regardless) that you can be said to be mentally healthy and if you add facing tough circumstances to that, then you can truly be said to be mentally strong. Running away is certainly easier, though.

I thought you had me, but the situation is actually more sad. Most liberals, similar to hippy-types act as if they are happy in front of other people but are miserable on the inside. They go out and smile and act friendly but underneath the skin tells a darker story. It's a similar story for my mother.

Got actual evidence to back up your claim? Or are you just trying to dismiss evidence simply because it conflicts with a belief that you are attached to?

I'm not really sure what your argument is, all I heard is that you beat your Dad in a debate and he refused to acquiesce. You've done that before, right?

I suppose that's a fair reaction. Those examples were end result, rather than how things work.

I suppose I feel like directing you towards Tobin Smith, then, for ease's sake.

To take an excerpt from that link -

And what about those designated liberals aka “libtards” on my shows?

I can tell you (with very few exceptions) that a big part of the Fox News “fair and balanced” scam was also built from this reality: articulate, principled, worldly liberals — especially women — don’t exist in Roger’s Fox News world.

The designated liberals job was simple: make the viewer so enraged from their recitation of hated liberal/progressive ideological heresy (theology that the Fox viewer, of course, had been taught to hate from decades of listening to thousands of hours of conservative talk radio) that the viewer literally felt like “throwing a brick through my TV screen.”

Key Point: the viewer’s rage set their brain’s pleasure-giving dopamine delivery system into high gear...and when their fellow conservative protagonist/tribal hero (aka me the hitman) turned the liberal’s own words against them and vanquished the sniveling apostate into living hell on live TV…WOW…the pleasure chemical rushed through the Fox viewer's brain like a deep hit of crack cocaine (btw its the dopamine system in the brain that cocaine stimulates and makes it so addictive).

The other reality of Fox opinion programming is even more diabolical than simply fooling old people into believing they are watching a “fair fight”:
The goal at Fox News is explicit: Produce outrage inducing partisan performance art insufficient emotional intensity to produce enough pleasure/dopamine to get their dopamine addicted viewer the high the need until the NEXT Fox News opinion program.

Neuroscience has known for years that “news junkies” or “political junkies” were in fact addicts…junkies…who got their addictive dopamine hit from the emotional roller coaster of unbridled outrage followed by the dopamine-releasing experience derived from the thrill of watching the victory/denouement of the ideological apostate.

I'd love to hear an example or this happening.

I've seen a couple of reports on CNN that have followed the timeline. Carlson or Hannity say something ridiculous, and a short time later (sometimes minutes) Trump is parroting the same thing as if it was his own idea, often using the same words. This has often made me think that it's not Trump that is the most powerful person in the world, it's those guys.
