It seems that Trump believes he had two options: lie to the American people, or jump up and down screaming "Death!!"

When does he do any Presidenting?

Basically, Woodward should have tattled on Trump earlier if it was such a big deal. Plus, Americans should be thanking Trump for lying to them.

That was one of the most pathetic excuses for an excuse I've ever seen. Trump has never learned that sometimes it's just better to not say anything at all. I've never seen anyone try so hard to prove what an idiot he is.

During the presser two other things that Trump lied about:

He said that Woodward said that "he didn't think that it was bad". Woodward confirmed that he never said that.

Trump claimed that these were very short phone calls. The list of the 19 calls show that there were almost 10 hours of phone calls. Many of them were unscheduled calls from Trump to Woodward.

The WH also claimed that Trump gave Woodward his cell phone. Woodward confirmed that is also not true.
 
And right now there are a bunch of idiots gathered in Michigan waiting to hear more lies from Dear Leader. They just can't seem to get enough.

Honestly, when you put it that way, it seems reasonable.

Trump doesn't really do moderation or nuance. He can either say there is no threat or it's deadly as sin. (Of course, choosing between those two options was based on political benefit, just as he has chosen to scream "Death!!" in other cases just for his own benefit.)

No, but there are a lot of repeat offenders. This guy at the Michigan rally is one. He's from San Diego:

 
Trump supporters, believe that the lack of idiots gathering to hear politocs speak in person, like Biden never has more than the press present, indicates a lack of popular support, rather than people not being complete idiots.
