Why would Suburban Women vote for Biden and the Democrats when Democrat run cities are now rampant with crime (and they aren’t asking the Federal Government for help) which could easily spread to the suburbs, and they will reconstitute, on steroids, their low income suburbs plan!

Is the answer “because our current president is a misogynistic douche-canoe”? I bet that’s the answer.

Not enough people are volunteering for experimental drug trials. We obviously need to administer it by force. Don't we still have all of those camps full of immigrants?

Don't forget prisons. We have plenty of prisons full of people of color we could experiment on.

Over these threads there have been a lot of words used to describe Trump and his followers. Last night I saw an ad for a candidate in, I think, Michigan that used a word that summed up Trump and his followers perfectly. Hateful. Hatred is the common denominator in all of his actions and comments, and among all of the support he gets. Whether it is directed at visible minorities, immigrants illegal and otherwise, foreign governments, political opponents, protesters for various causes, or just people who resist doing his bidding. He hates them all. And his supporters follow along. Some blindly, but many openly happy that he provides a forum and outlet for their hatred.

He hates Mexicans so he built a wall (or tries to).
He hates China so we have the “China virus” and trade sanctions.
He hates political opponents so he makes up ridiculous nicknames.
He hates poor people so he denies them medical care.
He hates Europeans so he pulls out of NATO.
He hates sick people so he pulls out of the WHO and interferes with efforts to contain COVID-19.
He hates protesters so he has them attacked on the streets of the Nation’s capital by the nation’ armed forces.
etc.
etc.

There have been dictators and political “strongmen” throughout history who have done despicable things for political expediency without really caring one way or the other about their victims. Trump is the only political leader I can think of who actively hates all his opponents. It is fortunate for many that politics in the USA are still relatively restrained. Imagine what he would be like if he was actually a dictator.

ETA And 40% of Americans think he is doing a “good job”. Hateful country indeed.

Does anyone have a reasonable answer to why his brother's funeral is being held at the White House this afternoon?

I am guessing it's so he doesn't have to pay for it.

I wouldn't be that sure. I've seen people on internet that treats capitalism like commies treat communism - unabashed worship and complete denial of serious downsides. According to those people, capitalism handles well everything, at least if not bothered by such pesky things like proper regulations.

FFIW, I don't think that Joe is such a person.

You are way too optimistic here. After all, people that destroy environment for profit (or even for slightly less costs) usually do not suffer from this kind of consequence. It is not like rich live among rabble next to polluted river or anything.

By murdering capitalism to secure extra profits, one does indeed tend to gain the power to avoid most consequences via distancing oneself from the damage and more opportunity and ease in engaging in underhanded and heavy handed means. Still, to be clear, I was talking about capitalism, rather than the exploiters of it. Monopolies that jack up necessary service prices like crazy, for example, can get very rich and powerful quickly while outright preventing competition from being able to access those customers. There is no "free market" in such a case for that necessary service, given that actual competition and the potential for such is necessary for there to a free market and that monopoly is also hurting everything else with the extra burden they impose, undermining the "markets" for everything else.

Supposedly the last time a funeral for a private citizen was held at the white house was in the 1930s (and I think that person was at least a advisor to the president.)

Supposedly he will be paying for it though.

Representatives of the Post Office have repeatedly stated that they DO NOT NEED MONEY, and will not make changes. This is all another HOAX by the Democrats to give 25 Billion unneeded dollars for political purposes, without talking about the Universal Mail-In Ballot Scam....

....that they are trying to pull off in violation of everything that our Country stands for. Vote NO to the Pelosi/ Schumer money wasting HOAX which is taking place now. Then fight the $51 million unasked for Ballots. Only ABSENTEE BALLOTS are acceptable!

As if we need another reason to hate Trump,

I'm waiting on pins and needles to see if the California Condor chick Oniko survived the Big Sur wildfire two nights ago (we watched the flames arrive below the nest before the fire took out the cam, fire is still ongoing but has burned over the Condor Sanctuary and the nest tree) I went looking for hopeful news about condor chick that have survived past fires. I found this: The Search and Recovery of Condor Chick 871, Wildfire Survivor
Wildfires aren’t a big threat to the condor population, he says, but that doesn’t mean it has fully recovered. The major threat is still lead poisoning. Since the reintroduction of condors in Southern California, lead has killed 10 times as many condors as wildfires have.

In 2013, the California legislature banned the use of lead ammunition in the state, an effort spearheaded by Audubon California. In the final days of the Obama administration, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service banned lead ammo and tackle use on its land; it was overturned by a newly-confirmed Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on his first day in office.
Can someone tell me why lead shot and tackle is so important to hunters and fishermen? Are there no substitutes? Is it just cheaper? California seems to be doing OK without it.

Members of the Condor Recovery Program spend much of their time trying to save condors from lead. They capture all the condors in Southern California twice a year and test their blood. Poisoned birds go to the Los Angeles Zoo for chelation therapy, the same treatment lead-poisoned humans receive. Without this kind of intervention, condors probably wouldn’t survive on their own in the wild.

But lead rarely draws as much attention as wildfire. “This is the massive catastrophe versus the insidious poison,” Brandt said. “You wish you could draw that attention about lead.”

California Condors have a nearly 10 foot wingspan. Try to imagine that then look at this: https://redwood.forestthreats.org/condors.htm
Until recently, there were too few of these endangered birds in the wild to know the answer to this question. By 1987, only 22 condors survived in the wild due to a century and a half of intensive poaching, poisoning by lead ammunition and habitat loss. Through government and private efforts, these survivors were removed from the wild and their numbers grew through a captive breeding program at the San Diego Wild Animal Park and the Los Angelos zoo. As of 2008, there were 332 alive, 156 of which have been released in California and Arizona.

Any time the President leave the grounds is way more cost than any off-site funeral. It may not always have been that way but security measures are weeks in planning now. I saw Sec Service at my hotel back in '89 for a Bush Sr, visit. They were there 2 weeks ahead setting up. It is likely even more costly now.

If only we could harness to good use all that energy of hate. But it seems right now the only possible outlet is a swirling down the cosmic toilet, in the form of a violent clash. Unless it can be tamped down long enough for a good part of the current basket of deplorables to die off. The expiration of this hate may require the expiration of the haters, and that'll take time.

I do hope that the newer generation is sufficiently world-wise to rebuff any temptation to infection of this soul-, body- and nation-destroying xenophobia and racism.
