Read “Dark Money” to see what these alleged Libertarians do in practice. Literally killing people with chemicals etc. In the name of freedom from government regulation. It’s a bit more than soda sizes.

Last time I checked it took a bit more to get to the level of libertarianism, yes.

Kinda like how you're not a sovialist or communist just for wanting universal health care.

Trump is doing a press conference while the helicopter engine is running. So far, he doesn't know anything about Iran offering bounties on US personnel in Afghanistan and thinks the situation in Belarus is a terrible situation and will be monitoring it very closely. Being his PDB briefer must be a total skate gig. Doesn't take long and low expectations.

Belarus used to be a great guy but has been really disappointing recently. I don't know if he's related to Bela Lugosi or not but what a great actor.

Why does he even do that? What a maroon.

IMO it gives the impression that he is an incredibly busy man who is just pausing to deign to talk to the press.

It also gives him a perfect excuse to pretend that he hasn't heard a difficult question and cover if he needs to scuttle off in a hurry if he finds it uncomfortable.

Right. It's a combination of stroking his ego in the first case and protecting said ego in the second.

It fits his persona. The man who likes his desk to look busy. The man who has a staff spend hours stuffing empty sheets of paper into folders and stack them up on a table so it looks like he has a complex business empire.

I've worked with people like this on a smaller scale my entire life. People who expend most of their productive potential attempting to appear highly productive. The fact that about 40% of average people report such a person is enormously dedicated and clearly takes on an outsize share of the team's burden is also not new to me.

This was a bit that President Reagan sometimes did too, which was directly referenced in the 1988 Richard Dreyfuss movie "Moon Over Parador", in which he plays an actor recruited to stand in for a South American dictator.
A series of hand gestures and facial expressions that wordlessly conveys "Sorry. I can't hear your question because of the engine noise, and I have to go. Maybe next time." President Reagan was an actor though, so he actually knew how to communicate nonverbally in an effective manner.

The U.S. Post Office (System) has been failing for many decades. We simply want to MAKE THE POST OFFICE GREAT AGAIN, while at the same time saving billions of dollars a year for American Taxpayers. Dems don’t have a clue! @USPostOffice911

Some states use “drop boxes” for the collection of Universal Mail-In Ballots. So who is going to “collect” the Ballots, and what might be done to them prior to tabulation? A Rigged Election? So bad for our Country. Only Absentee Ballots acceptable!

I see #DivorceTrump trending, which seems to mostly be about urging Trump supporters to break away from their "cult." A completely different kind of thought occurs to me: If Trump were to win re-election, I wonder if he will initiate a divorce. Trump's dating life will surely help boost ratings as the reality show transitions to The Bachelor President. I'm sure some would consider it a "distraction," but all of the attention is precisely what Trump craves -- the object purpose of his presidency. We'd also get a sub-plot from the mutual-turned-nasty divorce. The Donald will claim Melania "couldn't handle" the White House, and he wanted to divorce her long ago. He could even drop an empty threat about having her deported. It'll be part of a sentence on Twitter, but dominate the news cycle for three days.

I wasn't highly impressed by the reporter who asked Trump if he regretted his many lies. That was goofy grandstanding. But that said, it raises the possibility of grandstanding that has higher entertainment value.

Mr. President, there are recent pictures of Joe Biden looking fit on a bicycle, whereas you're a sack of lard incapable of walking down a ramp. Will you release your medical records?

1 - be a man
2 - go to a diner

It happens all the time - I get called dear, sweetie and hon pretty regularly.

In a diner, yeah. I can see that. But women get patronized in business settings where men simply don't. Not as much as in the past, though, thank goodness. Do you think a man would have been addressed with such a term in a tweet? I don't think so.

Interior Secretary David Bernhardt on Monday announced plans for an oil and gas leasing program in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, clearing the way for drilling in the remote Alaskan area.
Bernhardt said future leases of the federally-owned land will make the entire 1.5 million acre Coastal Plain area available.
Bernhardt said the announcement "marks a new chapter in American energy independence" and predicted it could "create thousands of new jobs."

Trump signed the Executive Order for this back in 2017

What’s with @CNN POLLS increasing me by 10 points in a short period of time. Maybe they want to take over from @FoxNews!

Getting ready to land in Minneapolis. Our great National Guard saved the city from further destruction. Should have been called up sooner by local government!
