Passenger killed by air marshall

Just in case I'm not the only one that wonders what would happen to an aircraft whose wall had been pierced by a bullet -- this is the most authoritative information I've been able to find.
There was a "Myth Busters" episode on this. Had almost no effect at all on the plane, air just went out through the hole rather gently, no explosive decompression. They even tried it at many times the normal cabin prerssure.

I'm just demonstrating that not all americans that were part of the revolution were overtly religious. This undermines your argument that the USA was founded by only religious people and intended to be a theocracy.
Where have I said that?

1) Founded by only religious people

2) Intended to be a theocracy

Those have been your implications. However, if you are saying that both 1 and 2 are false, that's fine too. What is your agenda here? What is the point in trying to convince us that human rights come from a supernatural source?

I'm not, quite contrary. Human rights are given to humans by humans.

I'm pointing out - to obvious, but understandable chagrin - that the rights in the US are given by a supernatural being.

That's rather impossible, since supernatural beings don't exist.

That's a very European point of view, but in the US rights are not "given" by anyone or anything, you are born w/ them.

Wrong.

Endowed
1 : to furnish with an income; especially : to make a grant of money providing for the continuing support or maintenance of <endow a hospital>
2 : to furnish with a dower
3 : to provide with something freely or naturally <endowed with a good sense of humor>
(Webster)

Exactly. Our "creator", could be evolution, which has given us mental abilities that no other animals on this planet have. Having those abilities (a level of sentience, self-awareness, insight, and reasoning not found in other animals) endows us with certain rights. Our "creator" is history.

If you knew a thing or two about context in the English language you would know what my post meant. Perhaps you should take up a class or something.

I am asking you what you meant. You're the closest one to ask, there's no need to take up a class, when what you said isn't even close to that spelling in the dictionary.

What did you mean?

Spin away.

You are clueless Claus. Your rights are part of you, you are born with them. They are not given to you by man or god any more than your fingers, toes, and eyes are. Which is why the US Constitution doesn't even touch on the subject of who gives rights, it doesn't have to, you just have them.

What about people who are not Americans? Do they still have the rights that Americans have?

Really, Claus, this is a childish and silly game you're playing here. Something about the subject of guns and Air Marshals gets you all out of sorts.

I'm still waiting on you to answer the question of who your creator was. Your parents, or a supernatural god?
That's interesting. Do you consider me covered by the DoI? It would seem so.

I am not an American citizen, so your question is irrelevant.

However, I think I know the reason why you won't answer.

If American rights just come to you, then the entire population of the Earth are endowed with these rights. Yet, they are not. I doubt anyone would argue that they are.

If, on the other hand, rights just come to American citizens, then their rights are dependent on their American citizenship.

Now, you can either be born an American, or become a citizen:

You become a citizen as soon as you take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States.

And, as you probably know, the Oath of Allegiance goes like this:

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

(Emphasis mine)

Your rights are not just something that floats somewhere in space. Your rights are dependent on the laws of the land. And those laws are made by humans.
