I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of eight Marines and one Sailor during a training exercise off the coast of California. Our prayers are with their families. I thank them for the brave service their loved ones gave to our Nation. #SemperFidelis

I think (or rather, hope) it's because his handlers are about to throw him under a bus. There must be a lot of reasonably sane Republicans who see him as the loose cannon he is. Most don't have the guts to oppose him openly and get blemed for giving the election to the Dems, so they want Trump to self-destruct, so the blame for loosing the election will fall on himself.

Hans
I think it's because he has them kowtowed. They are afraid to challenge his fantasy version(s) of the world.

I do wonder if anyone told him his comment about getting a third of the purchase price Microsoft is paying Bytedance were almost as ignorant as asking Birx if we could try bleach inside of people?

When he posts he was joking we'll know he figured it out.

One of the things I've gathered from conservative pundits is that they really believe that they represent the vast majority of Americans. Ergo, when liberals win it's because they cheat.

I still (partially) blame election maps for this. When a map looks like this:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...ntial_county_map_shaded_by_vote_share.svg.png

and they don't present with any proper context (i.e. how population distribution works) it really does make it look like "Democrat" is some weird little fringe movement that's only found in a few cities. By all you have to do is adjust that for population, which they never bleeping do, and the whole thing becomes totally different in how it looks.

It's also why I hate the EC (other than all the other reasons.) In 1984 Saint Ronald Reagan was elected with 525 electoral votes compared to Mondales... 13. That's "Everyone in America loves Reagan within the margin of error" level of lopsided. But while Mondale got absolutely trounced in the popular vote it was much closer, 58.8% to 40.6% which yeah is still a major victory for Reagan no arguments, but doesn't present itself as that "Total Victory" narrative.

They did hit that pretty hard not too long ago when Lara Trump posted that "Impeach This" tweet with a map like that. There were plenty of maps adjusted for population floating about after that one at least.

Somehow the opinion of someone who still insists the Central Park Five are guilty and won't admit he was wrong to call for their execution doesn't hold any weight with me. The appellate court found that there was juror bias against Tsarnaev and that two jurors had lied about it. For someone who professes to be the Law and Order President, he sure isn't concerned with following the law when it comes to the rights of a defendant to a fair trial.

Law'nOrder boosters rarely are. They tend to consider trivial things like fair trials to be an impediment to the safety of good people.

And after all, the lowlifes that end up in court are probably guilty of something anyway. Right?

Does the article point out that what happened was that Trump's Gestapo got run out of town, and that's why everything quieted down?

Well yeah.

In the State of Washington we have had one Republican governor for two terms and a single Republican Senator for a one term during the last 75 years. If you viewed a geographical precinct map the state would look like a hard core Republican stronghold. That is until you started counting the precincts.

Trump's prayers and five bucks will get you a latte at Starbucks, as long as you don't go for a fancy one.

Yeah, and he even committed voter fraud when he did it in the 2018 elections.

Maybe that's why he thinks everyone else will.

Right, he was only demonstrating how easy such mail in voter fraud is, even in the state where he says that system is "Safe and Secure".

I too am saddened, but I'm amazed that Trump got through that without blaming Obama.
