Trump Tweets

So disgusting to watch Twitter’s so-called “Trending”, where sooo many trends are about me, and never a good one. They look for anything they can find, make it as bad as possible, and blow it up, trying to make it trend. Really ridiculous, illegal, and, of course, very unfair!
In these calm, rational times, I suppose that it is reasonable to assume that the president has plenty of time to concern himself with Twitter trends.

Trump’s Campaign announces its all-star line-up of speakers for new scaled down Republican Convention.
Ted Nugent, Scott Baio, Antonio Sabato Jr, and Diamond and Silk will all appear virtually in Zoom boxes before Trump’s acceptance speech. You can already feel the electricity.

If that's an 'all star lineup', I'd hate to see the B-string. Tiffany, Mary Kate and Ashley Olson, Freddie Prinz Jr, and another pair of whackos who think the pandemic is a hoax manufactured to make Trump look bad? Trump is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. But the again, he always has.

Wait. Did he get Scott Baio or a Scott Baio impersonator.

....
No one wants him to speak but even if they defer to the fact he is POTUS and put him on the speaking roster, he'll look even more hypocritical than McConnell did up there at the podium speaking about Lewis as he lies in state in the Rotunda.
....

What leaped out from his remarks is that he said he attended the March on Washington. Apparently he really did, as a college student, and his first job on Capitol Hill was for Sen. John Sherman Cooper, who was a moderate Republican civil rights supporter respected by both parties.
McConnell attended the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where Martin Luther King Jr. gave the "I Have a Dream" speech.[11] In 1964, at the age of 22, he attended civil rights rallies,[12] and interned with Senator John Sherman Cooper. He has stated his time with Cooper inspired him to run for the Senate later in life.[13][14]

It would be interesting to know when/how he went off the rails.

He probably cancelled it because he can't pick up a baseball with one hand, and the mound is so steep and slippery he'll need help getting down.
Fun fact: he was never invited in the first place!

"Trump Announced, Then Canceled, a Yankees Pitch. Both Came as a Surprise.
The president’s announcement that he would pitch at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 15 startled the team’s officials, who had not scheduled such an event."

Wait. Are you telling me that Trump LIED?!
I never said that.

Maybe he misremembered. Or was inaccurate. Or the Yankees are lying. Or it is actually true, but in an alternative timeline. Or it is not important, because he is developing a vaccine. Or ...

(Will I now finally get my gig at the NYT?)

The perfect all C class list of stars. They could manage a series of "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" with that lineup.

Just guessing, but maybe when the money started rolling in from the 1%?
