Well, he could, but there would be some side effects. The zoning agreement he negotiated with Palm Beach is very specific. He can run Mar-a-Lago as a private club, or he can use it as a residence. One or the other. Not both.

And he can't just stay there and pretend he's just visiting as a guest. That agreement goes into excruciating detail concerning the the definition of a "guest", the number, and the duration of a guest's stays. There isn't really any wiggle room.

Reckon he'll give up his club just to live live there?

I'm betting he'll violate the zoning agreement be fined, refuse to pay the fines, and the appeals will last longer than the rest of his life and he'll hardly spend an hour a year thinking about it.

I suspect it will depend on how "trump friendly" the local politicians are.

If they actually like trump, it's conceivable that the local city council that covers Mar a Lago will just change the rules/issue some variance, or just tell the people enforcing zoning laws to just ignore it.

Interesting how ANTIFA and other Far Left militant groups can take over a city without barely a wimpier from soft Do Nothing Democrat leadership, yet these same weak leaders become RADICAL when it comes to shutting down a state or city and its hard working, tax paying citizens!

Does anyone notice how little the Radical Left takeover of Seattle is being discussed in the Fake News Media. That is very much on purpose because they know how badly this weakness & ineptitude play politically. The Mayor & Governor should be ashamed of themselves. Easily fixed!

A lot of people are telling me, they're saying to me "We need you to stop blaming Antifa, no one's buying that they're a real thing. Start calling them 'radical' and we'll get Fox to define that as whatever people who don't like you are doing."

All cameras are currently focused on Air Force One's gangway to see how well Trump does in deplaning. I for one can't wait.

The wrongness of this statement can not be understated, even for those who could care less.

Isn't there like small party on one street ? Takeover of Seattle ?

It's a beefed up version of Occupy.

If they are smart, they'll fold up shop after a couple of weeks. I wouldn't put money on that, however. Seattle and Portland maintain a vigorous competition for second place in the "laudable enthusiasm directed in misguided ways" crown, which of course has been held by Berkeley/Bay Area protestors for over a decade.

In fact, it is no longer CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone), but now CHOP. There is disagreement over whether it stands for Occupied or Organized Protest. Nobody seems certain who authorized this change. Or if anyone can authorize it. Some folks are saying the original name was planted to seem relevant to the Insurrection Act.

If all of this is making your head spin wondering how any decision making goes on, first I've been there (many times!) and it...

...doesn't get better, just fair warning. But, just wait until the spectacle factor sets in and "supporters" armed with 10,000 conspiracy theories show up. Who do you have to petition for entry?

They can add cultural art to the sidewalks and repurpose all the buildings they like into free libraries and soup kitchens, but this song and dance has been seen before. It takes more than a full pantry and some bookshelves. Delivering social services to homeless, addicts, and people with mental health issues is fraught with dangers (to providers and recipients both) and, sadly, a good amount of exploitation. While the budgets are certainly way too low for these things, the "waste, fraud, and abuse" numbers are quite low precisely because experienced administrators know how to spot a hustle.

Anyways, I could write 2 or 3 seasons of sit coms on the tropes you find in a prolonged occupation protest. At some point, especially if authorities shut down utilities and supplies, fatigue and illness set in, etc then you'll see an exodus of the moderate participants and the hard-core band will (despite the rhetoric of no leaders) coalesce around a small number of loud, aggressive (probably young and white) males.

Then it will probably transition from Occupy to Malheur.

But why did the ramp not have a railing?

Or did trump tell them to take out the railing because he didn’t want to look frail by using a railing?

Whatever the reason, the inside of his head must be a very strange place. “I walked down a ramp slowly, I’d better tweet an explanation. Then they will think I’m strong and agile. Ohhh, and I use the word momentum to show how popular I am.”
It should have a railing. Standard workplace health and safety.

But why was there even a ramp? Did someone tell them he can't do stairs?
I'm Just Asking Questions, of course.

It was part of the speaker's stand, where there were rows of seats. It would have been used by anybody who couldn't do stairs.

All the authorities would have to do is ask nicely. They're only there because the cops cleared out of that one precinct overnight, sending the clear but unspoken message of "fine, let's see how far you get not having cops around." So far they're doing fine, though as you say unorganized goodwill can only roll for so long.

Trump seemed to have navigated the down stairs quite well, minimally using the hand rail. No unusual gait, nothing that even a close observer would describe as out of the ordinary. This includes the walk to the helicopter.
