I also find it amazing that Trump and his supporters are trying to portray his little one block walk as the height of bravery. Image the courage of the man - willing to dare the evil protestors when he was protected only by a massive cadre of secret service agents, police, and national guard. And remember, he has a bone spur which would be giving an opponent an advantage. The guy has the heart of a lion!

With Trump, I'm leaning more towards him being in over his head, like handing a five year old a math exam for middle schoolers. I got this impression when the pandemic began, and things haven't exactly gotten easier for him since then. He doesn't just look like he's completely clueless as to what to do with a Bible, since he's holding it up as if it's Mao's Little Red Book, he looks tired, and scared, and, frankly, completely overwhelmed.

I thought that was the day before Trump's visit.

But you captured it very well. He looked as if he never held a bible before and was wondering "What am I supposed to do with this thing? Hold it up like an award I was given but didn't really want? What do people do with a bible?"

Why do I get the impression that if they asked him to hold a baby, he’d use the same pose?

It never occurred to him to pose with the Bible open.

Trump got elected after he stood on a stage on national television and openly mocked a reporter's disability with all the wit and subtlety of a drunken frat boy on spring break. And that little scene was in half the anti-Trump ads that ran.

Him holding a Bible weird is not going to hurt him.
 
I do want to caution my fellow members, some of whom have already discussed it, that the viral photo of Hitler holding a book in the same manner of Trump is a photoshop of a very famous photo. In the original, Hitler simply has his raised while his supoorters salute him. I dislike Trump as much as anyone, but let's make sure not to help spread falsehoods. Plus, Republicans will use this type of thing to say, "Look, fake news!".

That was just painful to watch. He comes across as such a boob...at least to anyone not a MAGA diehard. I've read some twitter remarks by supporters that actually found that 'presidential'. Doesn't take much for some, I guess.

The video of him walking with 'inspiring music' released from the WH was edited by a couple people with more accurate music like Ride of the Valkyries. I think using the traditional circus music would make a great campaign ad.
