Two things:

1) He's watching 60 Minutes, or at least, someone in the White House is. Makes a change from OANN, I guess.

2) Spelling and grammar suggest Trumpy didn't write this. It's been error-corrected throughout, and has complete, complex sentences. Not the product of his porridge-brain.

And McConnell "holding Russian hoaxers accountable"?? The Turtle is wise enough to know how goddam close Trump came to getting his arse kicked to jail and Mitch saved him. And that ANY further investigation of any "Russian hoax" will more than likely lead to a whole heap of highly embarrassing exposures that will land Mitch in jail too. So I'm guessing Mitch is going to tell Trump just quietly to shut his goddamed pie-hole right about now.

Trump tells the world he thinks McConnell is a simpleton. McConnell has been one of the hardest working people pulling strings to keep trump alive politically and manipulating the Senate to get the judges approved. All trump had to do is sign a piece of paper that was shoved in front of his nose.

The thing about most of Trump's lies (and those of his surrogates) is that they're wrong and they're stupid- but they're concentrated wrong and stupid. So, for example, the Hunter Biden tweet quoted above, the truth is a lot more complex, the kind of complexity that just doesn't stand a chance against the sort of simple stupid people prefer, and that Trump specializes in.

And how do you counter that, in necessarily short TV/radio ads, with people who don't have the attention span to take it in, or the desire to be shown that what their Leader is telling them is a lie?

Ok does anyone with access to the Washington Post know what he is talking about or can put that claim into context?

Trump is trying to make it sound like "everyone who wants a test can get one", but I assume the headline was taken out of context. (Maybe referring to some local hospital or region, or government rules restricting who can get one.)

I know they don't have the widespread testing needed to safely open up the economy (find asymptomatic covid-19 patients, do proper contact tracing, etc.)

1) Implied: Per capita test rate, which is obviously the only thing that counts, US is number 39 in the world. Even if we ignore small, obscure nations, US is well below number 20.

2) Literally: US totals a little over 11 million tests. The sum of the next 11 in the row is about 22 million.

It could be that people feel like they don’t need to be tested. The number of Coronavirus cases is strongly trending downward throughout the United States, with few exceptions. Very good news, indeed!...

Good news, too bad it's fake. (Google no longer seems to be updating totals. Charts are from Worldometer ) Subtract the few states where cases/deaths really are trending steadily downward and it looks a lot worse.

Deaths are up to almost 91,000 as we begin a new week.

Many states had implemented very restrictive testing policies because they only had enough tests for the sickest people. They've since ramped up more testing, but either haven't lifted those restrictions, or have lifted them but people aren't flocking to get tested, and they now have an excess capacity (although still below the level needed to properly track the infection). The article speculates contributing factors are difficulties getting the message out, mistrust or apathy of the test results, and cost to get tested. Meanwhile other states are still experiencing shortfalls.

It shouldn't be read as "woo woo, we've got this thing beat, let's throw the doors open."
