Bullet?
Journalists don’t speak firearms.
Bullet?
Mainstream reporting about firearms details is notoriously bad.
It's possible the shotgun was loaded with slugs, but speculating based on the bad verbiage of CNN is probably a waste of time.
Maybe there's a link to the autopsy report somewhere?
Ninja'd.
I thought that had universal usage? No?
Withdrawn, then, if it is some kind of dog whistle. The point stands: the Reverend showed he lived in a neighborhood where people recognized him, and if a tv was reported stolen, he would be positively identified. A proper stunt should have been minimally in an area he was unknown in.
He proved that his own neighbors might not accost the local pastor who runs on their street everyday, while oddly carrying a flat screen. Not quite the Twitter narrative though, was it?
The property owner, English, seemed pretty chill. Other neighbors said they recognized Arbery as a regular jogger on the street. As near as I can tell, there are the McMichaels and Roddy who are the problems. Roddy has been cooperating with police and AFAIK, no one is calling for his head. So a show of force, while well deserved, is being directed to the wrong people.
Marching on the DA's offics while open carrying, or in front of his house...now we're talking.
Yes, jogging down the street where you are recognized will certainly be some kind of protection. If only Arbery was recognized where he ran as well. Hey, wait, according to this poster:
I used the same term the article did. It did not clarify type/caliber/etc.
I'm assuming "shot pellet."
Exactly. And those people didn't go chase him down with guns, did they?
Are you claiming that those who recognized the pastor didn't chase him with guns? Or that the McMichaels and other neighbors didn't recognize Arbrey like they claimed he had?
That was the pastor's point, that you apparently missed. The difference was that even while acting far more suspicious, the white guy got the benefit of the doubt while the black guy got chased down and shot.
Possible slugs, yes, if small gauge. A 12 would have dropped him on the spot with a massive exit wound, pretty sure. Have been wondering why they hadn't released the autopsy sooner.

I'm starting to think ISF is where critical thinking goes to die.
For those who contend he would have been better off with a gun and could have shot them, I present this
https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...lice-shooting-louisville-woman-her-apartment/
Summary: Police serve a "no announce" search warrant on an apartment for drugs, despite the fact that the guy they were searching for was 1) not actually staying at the apartment, and 2) already in custody.
So the police enter the place unannounced. A guy is asleep, wakes up, grabs a gun and fires to protect himself against the intruders. Somehow, the guy's girlfriend gets shot 8 times and is killed. The guy is arrested for attempted murder of the police.
It's probably worth another thread where all the usual apologists can tell us how wrong the victims are (btw, three guesses on their race).
The 2A is supposed to be precious because it is supposed to protect the citizens against the tyranny of the State. Except, of course, when it is used in that way by black people.
Seems to me he went down pretty fast after being shot. Shotgun slugs are pretty deadly, but even non-survivable wounds are not reliably instant stoppers.
Short of catastrophic injury to the heart or brain, a fatal wound is not guaranteed to stop someone dead in their tracks.
How much time passes between the final shot and Arbery going down? not much.
If you're gonna fight, it's better to have a gun.
Arbery might be alive if he surrendered to the unlawful demands of his attackers. He might be alive if he had his own gun and shot them both.
We know he's dead when he tried to fight unarmed.
The McMichaels and maybe Roddy were the bad actors here. And the DA/investigators, who are even worse. The big societal comment I see in this story is carrying/vigilantis, corrupt good ol' boys, and a heaping side of cowardice and stupidity, not racism.
