He has little choice. He's already claimed 93%, 94%, 95% and (I think) 96%. Thus, it can't be less than 96%. You should be thankful he hasn't claimed 97%, but he's holding that for later.

It would be a pickle if he gets to 100% too soon. Not insurmountable for Trump, who might then claim 80% among Democrats or something, but best to go slow and leave something in his pocket.
