The Trump Presidency: Part 20

The people that voted for Biden should be out there canvassing and volunteering hard. He's their guy, they should make it happen.

My primary hasn't happened yet. I would have voted Biden over Sanders, certainly, but Biden wasn't my first choice. Anyway, I'm spending my time trying to convince bitter Sanders supporters to stop trying to sabotage the Dem candidate again.

To me, Biden is the lesser of two evils. I'm not the person to be out there canvassing for him, because I don't like him. My time is better spent on other endeavors.

I'm going to stop engaging in these political threads about Biden. There's really nothing new here. He's the candidate, he sucks (IMO), and he's not as bad as Trump. I'll watch the general election with pessimistic disinterest.

I hope everything Biden supporters are predicting is true and he stomps Trump. I really do.

I certainly hope that Biden stomps Trump as well. Fewer people attacking him from the left will help with that. More far left voters realizing that it's Trump or Biden and Trump is the opposite of everything they say they want, and hopefully even maybe voting for the only way to stop the opposite of everything they want from happening...that won't hurt either!

Hallelujah, amen and preach it, brother! (or sister, as the case may be)

Yes, we need to support Biden and then hammer him after he's elected to bring him to the left on policies.

Pence's office has banned government experts (Birx, Fauci, et al) from appearing on CNN unless the network shows Trump's entire afternoon dog-and-pony show every day.
Serious question: Does Pence actually have the authority to do that? Yes, he's "in charge" of the public appearances but does he really have the power to tell Birx/Fauci where they can and cannot appear?

If I were a Democrat i would demand proof of life before voting for Biden.
Yes, yes, it's apparent what the line of attack against Mr. Biden is going to be. What people who are turning to that play in the book should try to understand is: it doesn't matter.

I would vote for a crumpled up, empty cigarette pack that's been peed on by a feral cat, if it were the nominee against Trump. And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that view.

Good question. Whether he can do so legally, I don't know. However, as part of the Coronavirus Task Force, if Fauci or Birx were to defy the order, they could kiss that position good bye.

THAT is what they don't want. Can't have Trump's lies exposed.
Exactly. The lengths of these "briefings" have been so long that there's virtually no change that a significant percentage of the audience stays until the end. They would therefore likely never hear any critical analysis of Trump's words.

CNN is doing it right. They helped put Trump in office (it wasn't their intention but they gave him way too much free air time) and they have a particular responsibility to make sure every word out of his mouth is analyzed and corrected.

How long before they start blaming the Covid-19 crisis and resulting financial collapse on Biden and the Democrats?

They’ve already blamed Obama.

But to answer your question, if Biden wins, the blaming will start about 30 seconds after he’s sworn in.

Heh. No. They are going to start blaming Biden within weeks while touting the "perfect" response that Trump is taking now.

He can't forbid them to speak, but he can fire them if they do.

He’ll be pretty busy getting hammered by Republicans for not immediately cleaning up Trump’s mess.
That's dumb...

They won't be hammering him for not cleaning up Trump's mess.... they will hammer him for causing Trump's mess before Biden was ever elected. (Remember, there are republican supporters who actually suggest the 2008/2009 recession was Obama's fault, even though Obama wasn't even even president when it started.)

I almost hope they do.

We all like to think that there are at least some competent people involved with the government's Covid-19 response. But, with all of the dumb things they've done, its doubtful they are paying them much attention.

Fauci seems to have a lot of approval for the way he's dealing with the pandemic (much higher approval ratings than Trump). Fire him and it might cause Trump's approval ratings to dip further. (And since Trump and his crew are doing almost everything wrong even with Fauci there, it probably won't hurt the government's response anyways.)

There is almost too much in your post to take apart. Because I'm short on time at the moment, and because others will undoubtedly jump in, I'll be content to observe.

Nevertheless, welcome to the forum.

He's been around since 2012, dropped a bunch of posts in a 9/11 thread

On National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day, we honor the more than 500,000 American warriors captured while protecting our way of life. We pay tribute to these Patriots for their unwavering and unrelenting spirit!

(Unless they are called John McCain)

@OANN A key CoronaVirus Model is now predicting far fewer deaths than the number shown in earlier models. That’s because the American people are doing a great job. Social Distancing etc. Keep going!
