Indeed, time will tell, and I'm betting the memory of those who were wrong will be surprisingly short.Especially if its true about a correction regarding the 3% or 4% (WHO) death rate being more like less than 1%.

Yes, Time will tell.
And don't forget that even if the death rate is in fact only .1 percent, that still means that over 300 thousand Americans will die. How many ventilators and test kits and whatnot are too many? How fast can we cough them up if the calculation is wrong? If it turns out to be more like one percent, that's over 3 million. What are the consequences of having more than we need, relative to fewer? And who will bear the burden of a mistake? The rich or the poor?
Yes indeed, time will tell. I just hope that those who find it easy to trivialize millions of deaths have the grace to shut up when it's over.
e.t.a. If I'm wrong and things go much better than we expect, I'll be happy to say "whew, I'm glad I was so wrong."
