I streamed the address but didn't watch, just listened. Sounded very labored and man he does sniff a lot. Just so deadpan like he really didn't want to be talking at all
That was the sniffiest of his sniffy presentations. It's a tell. He sniffs like that when he's particularly uncomfortable with what he's saying.

Trump Tweets

“Nancy Pelosi all of a sudden doesn’t like the payroll tax cut, but when Obama proposed it she thought it was a brilliant thing that all of the working families would benefit from because if you get a paycheck, you’re going to take home more money.” @kilmeade @foxandfriends
He can't even understand why to have a payroll tax during this pandemic.

I think he sniffs when he takes drugs before a speech. The more he's required to pretend to be presidential, the more drug supported and more monotone the speech.

As my Boss used to say, "You can't make this stuff up."
WASHINGTON — On Wednesday night, President Trump implored the nation’s political leadership to “stop the partisanship” and come together to confront the coronavirus pandemic. On Thursday morning, he woke up and immediately issued partisan attacks on Democratic congressional leaders. Link

But let's focus on what's really important. Our president could be the most popular person in Europe. If that is, and this is a big 'if,' he wanted to be. But apparently our president has decided, he does not want to be the most popular person in Europe. Cool!

:eye-poppi

President Trump is quite quiet about the stock market performance these days. I understand that his travel ban announcement had a significant effect, he should really take full credit. ;)

That's pretty funny, in a ghoulish way- he's been bragging constantly for the last three years about how the stock market has soared thanks to him, without ever really being able to say specifically what he's done to cause it; and now that he has actually done something that affected the market, he clams up.

There's a rumor going around that cocaine protects you from the corona virus. Maybe Germaphobe Trump heard.

It's the Democrats fault. It's ALWAYS the Democrats fault.

Trump does say some strange things. He could be the most popular person in Europe. Run for any office. But he doesn't feel like it. Lucky Europe!

.

He ain't so popular in Europe after last night...

IMHO Trump hates the EU, and that is what is behind this.

Trump has certainly made an impact on Wall Street.

Whatever the explanation, the address did not work. The clearest proof came in the metric Trump understands best and that terrifies him most, because he believes it holds the key to his prospects of re-election. The headline this morning: “Stock markets tumble as Trump’s Europe travel ban shocks investors”. Truly, he is Midas in reverse.

well, he's very good at making money disappear, especially other people's money.

I initially posted this in the virus opportunity thread.
It looks like he's getting the quatitative easing he's asked for several times.

The NY Fed announced plans Thursday to inject vast amounts of money into the financial system, totaling at least $1.5 trillion. And the Fed promised to start purchasing a range of Treasuries -- a step that effectively marks a return to the 2008 crisis-era bond buying program known as quantitative easing, or QE.
