Breaking News: Trump orders retirement plans to be renamed 409k instead of 401k and all records of 401ks to be "stricken from the record, nobody ever said it."

We've always been at war with East Asia.

We've always been at war with East Asia.

Of course we have. That’s why we have to ban East Asians from entering our country.

Sorry. I’m just using a bit of humor to deal with the fiasco of the Trump Administration.

I'm appalled at GOP Rep Doug Collins and Nikki Haley lying so blatantly like this:

"Nancy Pelosi does it again and her Democrats fall right in line," Collins said. "One, they are in love with terrorists -- we see that. They mourn Soleimani more than they mourn our Gold Star families who are the ones who suffered under Soleimani. That's a problem."
(D. Collins)

I find it the height of irony for Collins, a Trump sycophant, to mention the Dems "falling in line".

"The only ones that are mourning the loss of Soleimani are our Democrat leadership and our Democrat presidential candidates."
(ditto CNN link)

I haven't heard or seen any Democrat 'mourning the loss of Soleimani'. I see Haley is gearing up for a future presidential run by crawling up Trump's bum in search of his base's support.

Trump Tweets

Smart analysis, I fully agree!

The 1973 War Powers Resolution is unconstitutional. It reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Constitution allocated foreign affairs authority between the President and Congress. The Resolution should be repealed.

Thank you!

Replying to @realDonaldTrump
President @realDonaldTrump has achieved more in the first 3 years of his presidency than anyone ever; and he has done so while being subjected to the most monstrous, ferocious, and diabolical opposition attack against any president. Thus, he is the greatest president of all time.

Barr didn't make that the policy and Mueller likewise adhered to it.

That's among the least biased things he's done. I hate the policy, but it is the current DOJ policy.
You are right... It was long standing policy that the president could not be indicted, and both Mueller and Barr were both following it.

I think I he big difference is that Barr and the DOJ seem to also be interfering with the investigations into crimes as well. (Things like trying to block subpoenas into Trump's financials) Plus Barr's actions to try to investigate the origin of the Mueller report could be seen as intimidation.

I don't think anyone here has disputed that. However, Barr made it clear before his nomination and during his nomination hearing that he would not just follow that policy, but that he approved of it.

Agreed. Barr also misrepresented what the Mueller report said regarding Obstruction revealing his own pro-Trump bias.

Yeah, no. As the IG report makes pretty clear, some awfully sketchy stuff was going in. An investigation into that stuff is fully warranted.

Glad to see that you don't have outrage fatigue from the constant barrage of similar offenses. I do.

I find it the height of irony for Collins, a Trump sycophant, to mention the Dems "falling in line".

They're preaching that to the people who will actually believe that via projection, after all.

Yeah, no. As the IG report makes pretty clear, some awfully sketchy stuff was going in. An investigation into that stuff is fully warranted.

Ehh. While I'm generally fully in support of investigating things, the actual cause and driving force for the investigation was utterly unprincipled nonsense, spouted loudly, repeatedly, and for political gain. That is not what I call valid basis. Also, to keep this clear (because the right-wing media largely didn't), the IG report also found that the "awfully sketchy stuff" didn't even remotely change that the overall decisions were completely warranted and without evidence of bias. Pretty much the usual when it comes to the nonsense that the GOP pushes. In related news to that, incidentally, Trump’s DOJ quietly ends two-year fishing expedition on the Clintons — and admits it found nothing.

You know how Trump likes to talk about how open and Transparent his government is?

From: https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/08/politics/steve-mnuchin-secret-service-reporting/index.html
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is opposing Secret Service cost disclosures related to travel by President Donald Trump and his family until after the presidential election... Mnuchin agreed to requirements that the agency disclose the President's and his adult children's travel, according to the Post. But people with knowledge of the talks told the Post that Mnuchin has pushed back against Democrats' stipulation that such disclosures begin by 120 days after the bill's passage, as he wants them to start next year.

Gee... I wonder why the Trump administration would want to delay publishing that data. After all, I am sure Trump and his family are very careful stewards of Taxpayer money. Why would they not want that published until after the election?

Trump has traveled for pleasure extensively while President, having spent one of every five days in 2019 at a golf club. According to CNN's tally, he has spent at least 252 days at Trump golf clubs and 333 days at Trump properties as President.

Oh.

This would be amusing, given that Trump had a spat with a gold star family and declares his love for dictators, if it were not so depressing.

Doug Collins is a slug.

An FBI agent forged a document to get a FISA warrant. That sort of thing doesn’t deserve an investigation?

Allegedly altered a document, from what I’ve read, but no indication on what, how much, or if it materially effected the outcome.

So, yeah, investigate, but the Trump Administration is still doing crimes and those need to be exposed and prosecuted, too.

Quelle surprise, the Hubert investigation into the FBI, Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and Uranium One has been closed, having found nothing worth pursuing:

SURPRISE, SURPRISE: THE DOJ’S HILLARY CLINTON INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN A BUST

After more than two years, an inquiry into the Clinton Foundation and Clinton’s tenure at State is nearly done—and there’s reportedly absolutely nothing to show for it.

(B)ack in 2017, buoyed by President Donald Trump’s calls for investigations into “Crooked Hillary & the Dems,” the Justice Department launched an inquiry into Hillary Clinton and Republicans' pet conspiracy theories about her and her career. Then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked U.S. Attorney John Huber to look into concerns that the FBI hadn't fully pursued cases related to the Clinton Foundation, as well as Clinton's tenure as Secretary of State, including the baseless “Uranium One” conspiracy theory championed by conservatives. Now, Huber is finally almost finished with his much-vaunted Clinton investigation—and, unsurprisingly, there isn't really anything to show for it.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that after continuing on for more than two years, Huber's investigation “has effectively ended with no tangible results.” After combing through documents and conferring with federal law enforcement officials looking into the Clinton Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas, the Post reports that Huber has “found nothing worth pursuing,” let alone any criminal charges. The U.S. attorney has not yet officially reported any results to the Justice Department, however, and the inquiry is technically still ongoing. But officials cited by the Post say that Huber's years-long investigation has by this point “largely finished”—and with nothing to show for it.
