Cont: House Impeachment Inquiry - part 2

Pelosi is getting cold feet because the Senate and White House have sent out mixed messages and she has no idea what to expect, a quick dismissal or a full trial where their whole dirty conspiracy will be exposed. I would advise Trump to take the quick win, but he marches to the beat of his own drummer.

Why does McConnell have to do anything?

If Pelosi won't take the Articles to trial until the Senate changes the rules to suit her, then all the Senate has to do is not change the rules, and that's the end of it. The Articles never go to trial, the case for removal is never tested, and the House Dems just look stupid for going through all the motions of impeachment except the part that actually matters: The trial.

Or Pelosi backs down and agrees to the current Senate rules.
Without a trial, Trump is never exonerated. How do you think that sits with him?

The Senate has five Committees investigating the Biden and Ukraine. The AG has launched an investigation into the Russia Probe. The IG just concluded his.

BB, what, exactly, more could the Senate Trial do than this? Do you really think that if there was a "conspiracy" by the Dems, they wouldn't have found it by now?

He doesn't. She won't. We're left with the present narrative. The Republicans refuse to hold a fair trial or do any work at all.

So much for the "do nothing Dems".

More piles of manure from this one. Cold feet has nothing to do with it.

McConnell has publicly declared that he is not a fair juror. So has Senator Graham. McConnell has said there will be no witnesses. No public testimony at all.

In the meantime Trump has been impeached. First President in history to be impeached in his first term.

The biggliest impeachment in history.

Trump's gotta love that.

I can just see him talking about it.

" You know people, this was bigliest impeachment ever. They say no one has ever ever seen an impeachment like it... First time a first term President has ever made this happen.
Take that, Dick Nixon!

But I could never have accomplished it without the help from Rudy and Vlad. The bestest bros ever! Oh, who am I kidding. Yes I could. I'd also like thank my wife Marla, oops Ivana, I mean Melanie. It's great I could set this example for my sons Donnie, Ivanka and whats his name. See Daddy, I did it! "

I have no ******* idea.

Do you have some argument about the value of not proceeding to trial, based on your assumptions about Trump's inner life?
You make it seem as if we can know nothing - to a greater or lesser degree - about a public figure's personality, given thousands of tweets, speeches, reports of his emotions in response to events, etc. That is just not tenable. That knowledge is not perfect, by any means, but also it is not zero.

The value of not proceeding to trial is

1. It's the responsible thing to do - just like holding an impeachment vote in the face of a likely acquittal in the Senate - to not participate in an unfair Senate trial.

2. It might put pressure on McConnell to make the trial more fair if trump does react as suspicions would indicate.

The idea that Speaker Pelosi is doing something wrong by not sending the impeachment articles to the Senate considering she has sent 300 bills to the Senate that haven't moved passed McConnell's desk is risible. And these include at least 100 bills that had significant bipartisan support.

I hope he beats the rap.
