The Trump Presidency: Part 18

Trump always gets owned by the replies on his Twitter account. He can't be reading the replies. Below is one I liked. Very on point. It was a reply to a doctor who wrote that as much as he disliked Trump's policies and actions Trump was obviously so broken inside that he couldn't help feeling sorry for him:

A conservative consultant wrote a well-received book with almost exactly that title: Everything Trump Touches Dies.

From: https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/28/asia/north-korea-launch-intl-hnk/index.html
Two projectiles launched by North Korea on Thursday were "presumed to be fired from a super-large caliber multiple rocket launcher," South Korean army officials said.

So, does Trump still get his Nobel Peace Prize?

Seriously, all of Trump's talk of 'beautiful letters' from Chairman Kim, his attempts at diplomacy, claims that he's somehow made progress in disarming North Korea, and North Korea is still firing off missiles.

Golly. If not for that tweet, there'd be no Thanksgiving.

What authority does he mean here?

Wow, that NPR review is scathing.

I bought it and read about half of it before giving up. The cognitive dissonance is astounding. He wants to blame the current awfulness of the Republican Party on Trump. In fact, if you take his self-professed brilliance as Republican strategist and publicist, Trump is just the outcome. The cause is himself, and others like him.

If the US is lucky, he'll use the power vested in him to declare tomorrow to be a Friday.

As Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a federal holiday in 1863, Trump's "proclamation" is nothing more than an unnecessary bit of grandstanding for his base. They'll probably think he's preventing those godless Dems from renaming it. A moron leading the morons.

Regarding Trump's, FOX News', Barr's, Jordan's, and many more GOP's claims that the FBI planted a spy/spies in the Trump campaign:

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department’s inspector general found no evidence that the F.B.I. attempted to place undercover agents or informants inside Donald J. Trump’s campaign in 2016 as agents investigated whether his associates conspired with Russia's election interference operation, people familiar with a draft of the inspector general’s report said.

The determination by the inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz, is expected to be a key finding in his highly anticipated report due out on Dec. 9 examining aspects of the Russia investigation. The finding also contradicts some of the most inflammatory accusations hurled by Mr. Trump and his supporters, who alleged not only that F.B.I. officials spied on the Trump campaign but also at one point that former President Barack Obama had ordered Mr. Trump’s phones tapped. The startling accusation generated headlines but Mr. Trump never backed it up.

Trump and FOX pundits were frothing at the mouth in manufactured outrage over something that never happened. It should be interesting to see how they'lll attempt to spin the report to cover up for their lies. Because you know they will.

As much as I despise almost everything Trump says or does, let's not blow this one out of proportion. . It is customary for EVERY POTUS to issue a Thanksgiving Day proclamation.

But as a retweet? Question: Who tweeted it in the first place?

Why didn't he phone it in to Fox & Friends? Or are they not taking his calls currently because they don't want to die of boredom on national TV? Have they got his number on auto-diversion to the answering machine...? "Good morning, Mr President! Please leave your message after the beep." followed by 30 minutes of silence and no beep so he gets bored and hangs up?

That part is new. However pretty much every White House issues press releases of all Presidential proclamations. So the twit tweeted it instead.

If there weren’t already strong connotations associated with the phrase, I’d call it a confederacy of dunces.

I wonder why it needs to be done every Thanksgiving? Would Thanksgiving not happen if we didn't get a presidential proclamation?

Maybe he's just making sure that the Dems don't get their way and call it something else? :D I wonder what he thinks they'd call it instead?

No he is just Dumb, he couldn't figure out how Punch cards work https://images.app.goo.gl/WqsaRqSCSbE22aZK7and made all types of lies about Barrack Obama's Birth Certificate.
He Truly is a stable Genius saw many of them When I did a sculpture at a Horse farm in Lexington cleaning out the horse stalls. That's where he would be if not born into wealth.

You’re talking about Donald Sr., right?

Minoosh was talking about the president’s youngest son.
