2. If those 9 million people died as the direct result of me keeping food from them because I think it will make them autistic or because of some insane "Well .00000001% of people choke on food every year so we shouldn't eat until all risk is removed from food" then yes that would be murder.

That is the stereotype sure, but how well supported is it? Non upper class communities have been the source of outbreaks for example. See Miniapolis and the Somali refugee community tied outbreak from a few years ago.

Having a child does incur an obligation. A child is dependent upon it's parents. It's a life created by the positive actions of two adults. Hopefully consenting. It's the known potential outcome for your actions. And you are responsible for your actions. Thus a kid you create does carry a legal responsibility to provide a level of care for the person you created until they reach an age where they can accept that burden.


I would also argue that you take on the burden to feed and water, and provide health care for a dog you take into your life. You do not have the legal right to take in a life and then turn around and deprive it of the necessities of life.


As to the matter at hand, I'm not overly fond of government dictates. But when the objections are despicable, dishonest, and dangerous, I can live with it.
