The Trump Presidency: Part 17

According to your own government web site, New Zealand's government works like this (kinda like the U.S.):

https://www.justice.govt.nz/courts/...-zealands-constitutional/#Branches-government

In the U.S., federal judges are appointed by the President with the approval of the Senate, but they are not employees of the executive or legislative branches. That's why federal judges can block Trump's orders, despite what the President and Attorney General want. The U.S. also has multiple levels of state and local judges, many of whom are elected like other officials, but they are part of an independent judicial branch. There are sound, practical reasons for not having judges and prosecutors working in the same branch.

The difference is though that the prime minister cannot handpick a lackey to do his/her bidding. He/she can only approve and recomend or reject a candidate put to her.

This isn’t about a Campaign, this is about Corruption on a massive scale!

As the President of the United States, I have an absolute right, perhaps even a duty, to investigate, or have investigated, CORRUPTION, and that would include asking, or suggesting, other Countries to help us out!

They've moved past the first few steps and now are going to line up behind "Yeah, so what? If it's illegal, it shouldn't be but Giuliani tells us it's not illegal and he's a real smart lawyer."

We see it with the interference runners (you know them, they're the ones who swear up and down that they're not Trump supporters and that it's purely a coincidence that they show up in every thread providing apologies, diversions and distractions) on the ISF. We see it from the talking heads.

This is going to be their defense.

Has New Zealand been facing over a half century of powerful and wealthy individuals and groups seeking to systematically undermine and corrupt the government and the people?
It was taken over by the British in the middle of the 19th century so the answer is no, it's been over 150 years!

For President Trump's base for sure. I'm talking about comparatively disinterested swing voters, the ones who only show any kind of interest in politics in a Presidential election year. They will have had "Joe Biden - corruption scandal" drip fed to them by all networks, not just FOXNews, for over a year

Legendary conversation between Lyndon Johnson and his campaign manager, discussing the opponent...

Johnson: Start a rumor that he ***** pigs.

Campaign Manager: We can’t get away with calling him a pig ******. Nobody’s going to believe a thing like that.

Johnson: I know, but let’s make the sonofabitch deny it.

I have a sick feeling even if he loses, Donnie will claim the election was stolen and therefore invalid, and will refuse to vacate the office.
And all hell will break loose.

I think he will not vacate physically but will politically. We all KNOW he'll be screaming rigged election, probably even before the election itself. He'll try to force Barr to use the DoJ to file suit. Who knows how that will proceed.

He may try, or at least troll us into thinking he'll try. However, the institutions are stronger than Trump. The process of bringing in a new president will start the day after the election and once in motion, will carry Trump out on a wave bureaucratic inertia.

What I think is most likely to happen is that he will go to Maralago until January.

The Washington Times, “Ukraine envoy blows ‘massive hole’ into Democrat accusations. Republicans at hearing find no Trump Pressure.” The Ukrainian President also strongly stated that NO pressure was put on him. Case Closed!

I remember an anecdote from a Joseph Wambaugh novel about police.

An officer had survived being “gut shot” and was back on duty. In a subsequent gunfight, he took the helmet off his head and used it to cover his stomach - the remembered pain of that previous injury surpassed any and all rational thought.

As President I have an obligation to end CORRUPTION, even if that means requesting the help of a foreign country or countries. It is done all the time. This has NOTHING to do with politics or a political campaign against the Bidens. This does have to do with their corruption!

Breaking News: Unemployment Rate, at 3.5%, drops to a 50 YEAR LOW. Wow America, lets impeach your President (even though he did nothing wrong!).

The Whistleblower, who had the facts wrong about the phone call, reached out, and more, to the Democrat controlled House Intelligence Committee. Schiff never told us about this!

“When your making an unsubstantiated statement that the President is making a claim having to do with quid pro quo, this witness has blown a big hole into that statement. The Ambassador put a dagger in the heart of Schiffs fairytale.” Rep. Lee Zeldin

“The witness was asked at least 20 times, and there definitely was no Quid Pro Quo.” @RepMarkMeadows @FoxNews
Their whole case was built around this, now they no longer mention!

*you're.

What has the world gone to when criminals and pundits can't spell properly?

Dismissed for lack of standing.

Without being exhaustive about it, I imagine standing for challenging the outcome of the election as a whole is limited to roughly those entities which report to the FEC (candidates, parties, and political committees) along with state Attorneys General.

A citizen or group of citizens could probably challenge state results (along with any state-level appendages of the above group).

The DoJ could charge specific people with specific crimes that interfere with elections. Before the VRA was de-fanged, they could sue state/county/city election boards for various offenses. But I don't think they can challenge the vote itself. So even if the DoJ theoretically applied criminal penalties to someone for some kind of electoral malfeasance, someone else would still have to make the civil petition to void the results of the process so tainted.

What he doesn't tell you:
Businesses have added an average of just 119,000 jobs a month for the past three months, the smallest three-month gain in seven years. The weakest sector of the economy _ manufacturing, which is likely already in recession _ cut 2,000 jobs in September. At the same time, retailers shed 11,400 jobs, and employment in mining and logging was unchanged. PBS Newshour
