The Trump Presidency: Part 17

It's like he's Jack Nicholson in The Shining.chasing us with an axe. I always thought his elevator didn't go to the top, But Trump looked today like he was bat crap nuts.

Trump is like a Hermit crab and always needs a shield of Toadies around him so protect his vulnerable self.
But there is no one left.

So here's what I'm trying to figure out:

Mueller does a whole investigation on whether Russia meddled in the 2016 election, and concludes they did, but that they couldn't conclude collusion because the Trumpet campaign was not coordinated enough to actually facilitate collusion. So the trump spends his time proclaiming that there was no collusion.

In response, what does he do? He goes right out and tries to make an arrangement with the Ukraine to get them to mess with our elections.

What I am trying to decide: is it bravado, believing that the Mueller report shows that they can get away with anything? Or is he just that stupid, with basically no clue what collusion actually means?

If not Trump, someone else is taking note of it.

Alas with another metaphor involving Rome. There's no Caesar without Crassus and Pompey, no Pompey without Sulla, no Sulla without Marius, et al.

No matter how many times someone stamped down a "new order" the underlying truth was the same: the laws are nice words on paper, if you want me to stop...make me.

Which is why something has got to change in regards to the growing pile of defied subpoenas.

ETA: You may not stop every tyrant with any given system, but for god's sake you should at least make them break a sweat.

I'm wondering about the White House officials who put the transcripts into the code-word system.
I've come around to think that it was a very clever move by them to preserve evidence the pretty much only possible way not even the President could have it completely erased.

Hmm. Here's a roundup link for some of the latest news related to impeachment and the whistleblower.

News Roundup: Pompeo listened in on Trump-Ukraine call, Vice President Pence also implicated

Of particular note there...

The Washington Post reports that Trump used Vice President Mike Pence multiple times to increase pressure on the Ukrainian government, most notably by instructing Pence to tell Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, after Trump’s phone call with Zelensky complaining about alleged Biden “corruption,” that desperately needed military aid was being withheld until Zelensky got tougher on “corruption.” Zelensky would certainly have taken this as a Biden reference; whether Pence himself understood it as such is still unknown, but “one of Pence’s top advisers” was on the Zelensky phone call. The Post story appears to be an effort by the Pence camp to paint Pence as a (spectacularly?) naive tool of Trump before further details are uncovered—but offers more proof that the White House linked the withheld aid explicitly to Trump’s demanded anti-corruption “favor.”

Isn't it AMAZING that the force of the entire top-level of the Executive Branch: POTUS, VP, AG, Secretary of State wasn't enough make Ukraine just give in and make up a case against Biden?
Mr. Art-of-the-deal can't even make a deal when he holds billions of foreign aid and the greatest military of all times against a tiny opponent.

My statement on the latest fiasco

We learn from the press today that Chm Schiff had prior knowledge and involvement in the WB complaint. He withheld this info from the American people and even from the Intel Cmte. In light of this news, it’s hard to view impeachment as anything aside from an orchestrated farce.

Y'all could be about to witness something never before seen, the total psychological meltdown of an American president. I say this because, as I have stated here before, I spent a number of years living with a malignant narcissist - and what is happening to him now is a pattern I have seen before; I know what he is about to go through, and I never thought I would say this, but I almost feel sorry for him - almost.

We are living in interesting times - remember them.

You should be on TV. You'd fit right in.

I assume this is the tweet in question. It contains a reference to bovine feces. The first response is "Please don't swear. It's not classy."

Evangelicals really don't like that. There were quite a few trump supporters rumbling about his use of 'goddam' during rallies a couple of months ago. It's a little weird to me that that's what they object to, while apparently tacitly condoning his other horrible behaviour.

“The Ukraine controversy continues this morning as new documents obtained by @FoxNews show that a former Ukrainian prosecutor said that he was forced to back off looking into a firm tied to Hunter Biden.” @MariaBartiromo
Does anyone other than Fake News protectors have a doubt?

The U.S. won a $7.5 Billion award from the World Trade Organization against the European Union, who has for many years treated the USA very badly on Trade due to Tariffs, Trade Barriers, and more. This case going on for years, a nice victory!

Which even if true isn't the original right-wing claim which was that a specific prosecutor was fired because he wouldn't back off Hunter Biden investigations...

...and which does't invalidate the claim that President Trump sought a quid pro quo from Ukraine.

This is Anderson Cooper's segment tonight, the first few minutes when a reporter asked Trump "Can you just make clear right here, What did you want President Zelensky to do in regards to Joe and Hunter Biden". Trump doesn't answer of course and is reasked the same question and then says "You talkin' to me?!" and it gets worse from there. It is excruciating to watch.

I saw that this morning and thought that Trump thinks he can order civilians around. Again, this alone is an impeachable offense.

Is it just me? I can't bear any more listening to this psychotic unhinged moron's rants. We're going to have to hear this nutjob rage for another year.

Do you really think he's going to be quiet, even if he's impeached or voted out in the next election?

Wherever you are in the world, you should try to remember these times. They are like the JFK assassination, Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, the Cuban missile crisis, the resignation of Richard Nixon, the fall of Saigon and 9/11 - they are events in history that you will always remember where you were and what you were doing.

Very interesting.

But stupid.
