Greta Thunberg - brave campaigner or deeply disturbed?

In my 14 year old opinion she is overrated. She got the Noble Peace Prize Greta for a good reason right? Her contributions to world peace? A few speeches to the UN and sailing to reduce her carbon footprint. She’s absolutely impressive but her nomination, though well-intentioned, lacks substance. Point to any clear impact she has had on peace.

Nobel Peace Prize is frankly meaningless. Mother Theresa once won it and she did nothing for world peace.

She didn't get the Nobel prize yet. She's nominated.

If anything Greta has brought it to national and international news. As others have said before here.

But still steps we can take today, and steps we have taken long before this young lady became known are making a difference. Other event like the meeting in Paris a while back cemented even Mexico to take steps to the 3R idea, single use plastics are on the way out, car smog levels are adjusted and other things.
All have been considered with shutting down as little industry as possible. This makes sense.

Yeah, activism is visible but changes are here now that slipped in without much publicity. Some I agree are good, others we just go with the flow. Either way we participate.

Actually, Thunberg's message might be better received if she were an actor. For example, Aquaman seems to have some cachet, on climate topics. Maybe she should bravely bulk up her IMDB page, and then return to activism from a position of strength.

She can play a young Carol Danvers in flashbacks.

Too emotive, and too involved in Earth's problems. Brie Larson's Danvers is characterized by a stoic message of preoccupation with literally the entire rest of the universe that isn't Earth and its issues.

But that's perfect. It would finally giver her an actual character arc.

You know what annoys me? People keep referring to Greta as a child. She's not a child, she's sixteen, and more mature than most of her detractors.

You might want to look up the definition of the word child. Around here, it legally refers to anyone under the age of 19.
