The Trump Presidency: Part 17

A few other comments: On trade he said there's no question the trade wars are hurting rural interests, something I don't think Trump's ever said.

Speaking of the farmers and their bailout, remember when Obama approved bailing out the auto industry and the GOPers were running around with their hair on fire about "picking the winners and losers", "let the market decide", etc. IIRC, Mittens gave a major speech about how wrong it was.

Now, of course, the GOP supports the farmer bailout which has disbursed twice as much as Obama did. Worse, the auto bailout money was returned plus some profit. Nobody even thinks that the farmers should pay back the money.

Bunch of friggin' hypocrites.

Assumes facts not in evidence.

Anyone who is still an active part of this administration is as close to a nutter as makes no difference IMO.
I take back what I said about Barr since I heard more accusations about how he was catering to Trump's CT that evil Democrats are out to get him and with the CIA they started that Rusher thing. Trump the idiot knows full well that Rusher thing was and is a legit investigation, just like he knows his inauguration crowd was thin. He has to believe as long as he can convince people then reality doesn't count.

Clinton was been on a book tour with Chelsea recently and she says what I believe, Trump cannot stand the fact he is an illegitimate POTUS.

Scary stuff but they would be wiped out in a HOT minute by the police, FBI, and/or National Guard and whatever all those other Homeland Security organizations are. Sad if they start a guerrilla war before they are stopped. But someone needs to remind them, the military is not with them.

Trump has now been Tweeting that this is a coup. He's just plain nuts.

Wait, what? Do you have a source for that?

I don't normally watch the Maddow show but this episode put the whole thing is very clear perspective. Very, very well done.

Go here and click on the tab labeled, "Trump fixation on exonerating Russia entangles Barr, Pompeo"

I came away with the conclusion that Trump is a Russian asset, probably because he owes them (tens of ??) millions of dollars.

Well they went ahead and did the ferocious reptile moat (FRM). Then 4 months later everyone noticed that there were hardly any alligators and snakes in the moat. What the hell was going on? Well they set up cameras to find out. It showed that Mexicans were harvesting the ferocious reptiles for their skins and meat. But weren't they scared of the toothy scaly beasts? Well the scared ones weren't doing the harvesting, but it was found that all sorts of people were interested in the skin boots and belts and nearly everyone loves the Torta de Anaconda.

Then they moved the moat to the American side which was to solve that problem. Nope. Americans did the same thing.

It looks like the next step really is the lasers beams attached to the ferocious reptiles in the FRM.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what a "perfect" phone call is. I mean, I've made many calls in my life, but there's not been one where I've hung up the phone and said, "My, what a perfect phone call!"

You're forgetting an essential syllogism:
  1. What Dump does, he does perfectly.
  2. He made a phone call.
  3. => It was perfect
QED

Does Barr know? Does Pompeo?
Or do they think that Trump projects a Zone of Immunity that will protect them?

They know exactly what is going on. The only way not to know is if they are as mentally ill as Trump. I suspect they think Trump is invincible. Or maybe they just think they can reap the rewards and get away with it whether Trump falls or not.

With Trump it's hard to know who believes in him, he is such a good con artist.

Fair enough.
But one would think he’d be better at being discreet Or at least be better at having his lieutenants doing the work.

This goes back to what I've been saying all along. Trump's pathologic narcissism explains why he's so blatantly stupid. And maybe he's gotten away with everything, cleans up from time to time with a bankruptcy or two and moves on to the next scam. But now his illness is getting in his way.

Why is Trump trying to undermine the credibility of the Mueller report that he says exonerates him? Why is he still trying to find the DNC server? Because if he can blame the hacking on someone other than the Russians, then he can lift the sanctions that were imposed because of that.

No, you're thinking too much. It's really simple. Clinton has it right, Trump, despite all the bluster, is horribly insecure. He can't stand the fact his presidency is illegitimate. He wants the Russian help in his election to dissolve and his inauguration crowd to magically grow just like he imagines himself and his world.

Even after Barr essentially defanged the Mueller report, Trump cannot let it go. So he persists in the CT that it was manufactured by his enemies and there is going to be some magic revelation so all will know.

it's hard for me to imagine that Barr isn't ******* his pants that Trump is implicating him in unethical activities in at least 3 countries. Pompeo, he's already chosen his hill to die on and Giuliani can't be impeached. IMO it's only a matter of time before Trump starts implicating Pence as well. Although maybe whoever is writing Trump's tweets will try to leave Pence out of it trying to salvage him so he can still be held out as the GOP's go-to guy if they decide Trump is radioactive. If I were a Republican Senate candidate I'd be begging Trump and Pence not to campaign for me just now.

His base may not realize how bad these tweets are for his Cabinet members but those members probably aren't that naive. Barr especially must realize his balls are caught in a vise. I can't articulate all the reasons now, but if he cares about his law license, let alone his job, thing aren't looking great for him. I don't think it's overstatement to say his best option may be to resign immediately.
Yeah but then you have to ask, what were Barr and Pompeo thinking? Did they think it was just typical Trump and they wouldn't find anything then it would eventually fade away like that inauguration crowd? Makes sense.

Then Trump got caught doing something more blatantly illegal and suddenly everything looked a bit dirtier than it had a couple weeks ago.

Most bullies are insecure

I saw a farmer interviewed on CNN who was being totally screwed by tariffs and was airing his grievances about them. He was then asked who he voted for, and it was Trump of course. Then he was asked who he'd vote for next election and he smirked and said Trump.
I can understand greed. I don't understand what this guy's reasoning must have been.

They believe in the magic man.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) it all blows up. IG demands a secret, secure meeting with several investigative committees. No way this is gonna be good for The PDJT.
