North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me. I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Bidan a low IQ individual, & worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?

One would think that firing off more missiles (after promising not to) would be a rather strong signal in itself.

(btw -- the original tweet was deleted and corrected for the misspelling of the name of his most likely opponent of the next year or so - "Bidan").

Hopefully, it's fake news, like some of the previous cases have been. Still, it would be completely unsurprising if true. I'd say that it should also serve as a serious warning to future negotiations.

It should so serve, but of course it won't.

It once again points out how out of his depth Trump is. He brags about how "great" a negotiator he is. Of course, his claims on that front are 90% ********, but even in the 10% where he's not full of it, he wasn't negotiating with someone who can literally order the summary execution of half the people at the table. Trump's "Tear it up and walk away, call everyone names" style of negotiation might work when the worst outcome of a collapse of talks is that no one has to work with Trump, but the stakes here are much higher than that.

Not that he'll understand that, or even give enough of a **** to even try to understand.

High-ranking North Korean diplomat Kim Yong Chol was identified attending an art performance alongside leader Kim Jong Un in the country's state media on Sunday -- two days after one of South Korea's biggest newspapers said he had been banished and sentenced to hard labor and his deputy executed.

So, this fellow was only reported as being "banished and sentenced to hard labor", not the one executed, so some of the story may still be true.

And it wouldn't be hard for them to reverse his sentence if they thought it would help them play the US and SK. Making their reporting look like "fake news" can only help NK, as we'll be less likely to believe the next bit of bad news that pops up.

North Korea leader Kim Jong-un has received a personal letter from US President Donald Trump, state media report.

Mr Kim praised the letter as "excellent" and said he would "seriously contemplate the interesting content", the KCNA news agency says.

He also praised Mr Trump's "extraordinary courage".

Earlier this month, Mr Trump said a beautiful letter had been sent to him by the North Korean leader.

It was not disclosed when or how Mr Trump's letter to Mr Kim had been delivered, and no details of its content were given. The White House has not commented.
