That said, I want either Warren or Robert Reich as Treasury Secretary and Secretary of Commerce. I don't care which. I just want that combination.

I hate to say it but I'm going all in behind Biden. I'm even registering as a Democrat. I've never registered as a member of a political party before. Today though I did. I really like Mayor Pete and I want him to get a national stage in the next administration because his ideas deserve one. I want Harris to be a running mate. There are others in the pack who need national stages but I care about beating Trump and I feel like Biden can do that.

Is this another argument that straight white guys who didn't go to college dont get enough political representation in this country?

I'm not there, yet but I'm more than willing to accept him as the nominee. The worst they can come up with has already "trashed" him and it's not catching fire. Rudi's aborted Ukraine trip was seen as a joke. The creepy grabby uncle thing has led to zero accusations of actual assault or molestation. The ancient plagiary scandal (remember when simple plagiary was enough to kill a campaign - ah, Pre-Trumpian America) is a no go. All of this is because you have a President who's actually implemented Nepotism as a party plank, has far greater accusations of "bad attention" to women, and a serial fabulist, to boot. Whataboutism is real. The GOP can't go after those foibles when they're supporting Old Tiny Hands. His scores in all those areas are far worse.

My personal and completely subjective opinion is that the voting public is going through shell shock. Biden may seem like the slow and safe guy at present but I think with another eighteen months of The Trump **** Show, the country is going to be exhausted. Conservative-Lite got what they wanted... a conservative Supreme Court and a big-assed One-Percenter Tax Cut. His polls seem to indicate that they may finally be saying Nyet to his schizophrenic foreign policy, isolationist tariffs and more important, his antagonism and belligerence that he turns every discussion into.

With that shell shock/trauma, stodgy old Uncle Joe is going to represent a welcome change.

(I still back Harris, Warren and Buttigieg. If any of them catches fire, I'll happily and enthusiastically back them. But "settling for" Biden is not the worst thing we could do.)

Biden, should he get the Nomination, can create a lot of good-will by offering important positions in his government to the other candidates early on.

As I've noted before, I'm much more of a Warren supporter. I don't really want Biden as the candidate, but I'm definitely not going to knock those who do. If you're going all in for Biden? Go you!

Appropriate positions, at least. There's an absurd amount of rebuilding that will need to be done to undo the ongoing sabotage and politicization that the current administration has been engaging in.

That is some serious putting the cart before the horse right there. Isn't that what happened in '16?

Remember, catch the ball before deciding what you're going to do with it.

Trash woman? Are you honestly expecting informational discussion with that opening?

Nope. But the same cretins that constantly attacked Hillary have now gotten onboard the Tulsi train so I'm hoping to enrage them by calling her "trash" at every opportunity.

What is this "enemies list?"

How do you know these "Twitter friends" are really on this list?

I read the freaking list.

What "BS reports" are you referring to?

A lot of them have been getting suspended from Twitter due to mass reporting of rather innocuous posts.

Someone needs to explain why so many people that put winning elections as their top priority are backing a guy who hasnt won primary elections and ignoring the ones who outperform their fundamentals.

This is some sabremetrics stuff. The "electable" crowd is going hard on the eyeball test when klaubachar has the highest WAR.

Why would the Dem nominee need to buy Dem goodwill with Cabinet appointments? Does Biden have to worry that Warren Warriors and Bernie Bros might go Trump or stay home on election day, if he doesn't deal them in?

Yes, because D voters don't automatically vote for anyone with an (D) behind their name.
For 2020, there is a need for enthusiasm, and Biden on his own doesn't really excite anyone.

Marainne Williamson qualifies for a debate spot.
The Dems trying to portray themselves as the party of reason friendly to science just took a blow with a New Age Woo monger like WIlliamson in the spotlight.
Look past all the talk about love and forgivness, and Willaimson is just another mystic con artist praying on the suckers. OK, she is not as bad as the right wing fundies, but being "not bad" is no the same as "good".

I took a look at some of her issues papers and found her to be pretty woo-ish, but in standard-issue Democratic politician ways. Climate change? She's anti-nuke and anti-fracking. Food issues? She's anti-GMO. Criminal justice? She's basically against it because of racism.

Considering the blatant Melania plagiarism of Michelle O's speech...

I don't think those are standard Democratic positions.
But nice try, using the "Let's try to brand everybody in the opposing party as a extremist" tactic.

Problem being that before you are elected, promises of appointments, influence, or outcomes of decisions once you get in office in exchange for support getting elected to that office...is a huge ethical breach, a violation of FEC regulations, and public corruption writ large.
