Barr did the job he was hired to do, obfuscate and minimize the results coming from Mueller. I'm sure he justifies it with his philosophy that is throughout his C.V. - the President Can Do No Wrong.

Now, the admin knows their time is limited so the Trump Family Noise Machine is doing six shows nightly, backed up by the Sold My Soul Singers, plugging their hit single, "No Collusion, Losers!" The DoJ and the administration will buy as much time as they can, knowing that the full report is going to get out and it ain't gonna look quite so good for Trump as his lackie, Barr, has made it sound. The longer they delay, the more stumps he and Junior and Eric can climb on and lead the crowd in "Collusion Delusion!" chants. It's all about marketing the lie to the willful cretins who support him.

I believe that is an excellent summary.

Listening to the repeat this morning on CSPAN of the Judiciary Committee Hearing, all of the Republicans on the committee got the talking points memo and are expressing their faux outrage that the investigation is over and the Democrats need to move on. This before anyone except a biased Barr et al has seen the report.

One of the talking points, "enough is enough" but no one has seen the report.

And there is repeating over and over the 'dossier' was fake even though it wasn't, the Democrats are the ones that colluded with foreign agents even though there's no evidence of that, and of course there was no collusion.

And Obama was Orwellian spying on political enemies. Can't forget that one bugging the Trump Tower which was never done.

It's a scam. If the report is not released to the public, this cannot be published. If the report is released to the public, you'll be able to read it for free and will have no need to buy it.

It's not a scam, it's standard practice. And of course it will be released for free. If you notice the cost of this publication is pretty minimal. If someone wants a copy for their Kindle or a printed copy, I imagine the government printing office would be charging a lot more.

That said, it strikes me as peculiar that one would need to take an oath before giving a blowjob!

It didn't exactly lead to an investigation of other crimes since adultery isn't a crime anymore and Juanita Broadderick didn't come forward until 1999. It was arrogant of Clinton to think it wasn't going to come out that he was a serial adulterer.

There isn't much information that can be "stolen." Physical objects? Trade secrets? Maybe. But that's not how leaking usually works. If somebody on Mueller's team decides to pass a full copy of the report to the NY Times, he'd likely be in a lot of trouble, but neither he nor the Times would be accused of "stealing" anything.

But in the case of Russia hacking into the DNC servers, it was stolen information. It was not given to them by anyone who had already been given access to the information.

"Leaking" is where a person with authorised access, passes that information on to a third party without authority to do so.

This is not the same as "unauthorised hacking into a computer and stealing the information therein"

The Law is well established that media may publish leaked information - that does not extend to information that was outright stolen.

Unauthorised hacking into a computer is a crime - 18 U.S.C. §1030 (a)

Data theft is also a crime - 18 U.S. Code § 2701

Data taken from said computer are the proceeds of a crime and therefore are stolen property.

Receiving stolen property is a crime, even in the USA.
