You're lagging, The Attorney General William Barr was given the decision to determine whether or not obstruction of justice had occurred. He found none.
(I realize you likely know this by now as we are talking about breaking news as it happens)

Chris B.

He did things that looked like obstruction that wasn't instruction. He didn't do things that look like collusion. That is the summary.

You know what most people manage to not do? Things that look like obstruction.

How do you tell the difference between refusing to do so and reaching the reasonable conclusion that he shouldn't do so?

The summary makes it clear that the decision could have gone either way.
One can assume that in such a situation, indictment will follow partisan lines.

So basically, Mueller passed the buck to Barr to call Obstruction, and Barr refused to do so.
Congress might see things differently.

Frankly I think you should stop grasping at straws. Do you honestly think the Republican Senate is going to convict Trump if the AG has said there isn't enough evidence?

It's over. The only avenue left to get rid of Trump is to boot him out at the next general election. Democrats: for the sake of humanity, please don't screw that up.

Note: I predicted this would be the outcome on this forum months ago and got called a Trump apologist for my pains. Just so that doesn't happen again, here is my position on Trump: I think Trump is possibly the worst president of the USA ever. He's certainly the worst since I was born. I think he is a danger to the USA and to the World. I'm just being realistic.

He may not get removed, and lets be honest here, Nancy has already said she is not interested in impeachment... the ONLY WAY to get rid of him

But, if you think Trump's troubles with the law are over, then you are living on Planet La-La Land.

"While this does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him." ~ Robert Mueller ca. 2019

"Total exoneration!" ~ Donald Trump ca. 2019

And now the cries for obstruction. Obstruction of what and how?

Hillary freaking lost. Get over it.

Now we have the issue that trump accepts Putin's denials while there is a report he is praising that seems to reject those denials. That's pretty insulting.

Who?

Mueller's report contained no reference to any person named Hillary.

Did you post off topic intentionally, or are you just having serious problems understanding the report summary that has been released?

Obstruction of an FBI investigation, at the very least by firing James Comey because of "the rusher thing, with Trump and Russia".

Hillary freaking lost. Get over it.

I'm not of the opinion that the president should be above all laws, sorry.

Then again, as I said before, I personally think that his treatment of refugees are a crime against humanity, so I think he deserves far stronger charges than "obstruction". And after that, we can discuss the money laundering, the the campaign finance fraud, the tax evasion, the financial crimes, the money laundering, whatever he was doing with Epstein...

Hey, not my fault the GOP decided to swear fealty to a career criminal. And in any case, that'll likely be after 2020.

Taibbi's bottom line is this:

But that's not true at all. There's plenty of gray area. Trump doesn't have to be a paid foreign agent to be shaping American policy to serve his own financial interests. He didn't have to be a paid foreign agent to benefit from Russia deciding that a President Trump would be better for them than a President Clinton, and working toward that end. It's not black and white at all. There's plenty of misconduct, even if it's not prosecutable.
I agree. He wasn't a paid agent but he openly asked for Russian government help in the election campaign. Lots of grey there.
