Someone should ask the GOP why, given Cohen's long history of criminal ties and behavior -- which was in the public domain before 2016 -- they made him the deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee in 2017
One suspects Cohen was made finance chairman not despite his history, but because of it.

Then there are the people that Gaetz likes to invite to State Of The Union addresses:

A Holocaust Denier. Nice going Matt, And if you did not know who he was why the hell did you invite him to the SOTU?
I'm sure he's a "fine person".

"He told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid. And yet I continued to work for him."

One Republican turns to another and asks, "What's wrong with that?"

Jim: [consoling Bart] What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Jim : Oh, boys! Lookee what I got heyuh.

Bart : Hey, where are the white women at?

How do you know he wasn't trying to hide that he was a straight-A student and was being modest about it? After all, I hear he's a very stable genius.

Mmm?

Professor Kelley told me 100 times over three decades that “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had.” I remember his emphasis and inflection — it went like this — “Donald Trump was the dumbest goddam student I ever had.” Dr. Kelley told me this after Trump had become a celebrity but long before he was considered a political figure. Dr. Kelley often referred to Trump’s arrogance when he told of this — that Trump came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything.

Jeezus! If the Florida Bar Association is considering taking his law license, he must be an absolutely ******* awful lawyer!
As a politican, he's not looking too clever either. If he's ever actually practiced law his client list is going to be subject to intense scrutiny now, especially those with NAMBLA connections. Matt Geitz sure does love those NAMBLA people.

My Sister (who is a practicing Attorney) often wonders how the hell some lawyers she knows ever passed the Bar Exam.

Let's not forget his inviting a Holocaust Denier to the SOTU address...

The real test, of course, is whether they can make a living practicing law. It appears to me that in the US a law degree is regarded as a necessary qualification for a career in politics.

That's impressive all right.
I assume all are doing hard time for talking with Russians?

Of 7 mentioned individuals, 5 have been indicted, (2 convicted, 3 plea bargained)

The remaining 2 are expected to be indicted but have not yet.

Haven't you been paying attention?

Gaetz got his law degree in 2007. In 2010 he began his career as a full-time GOP politician (2nd generation). Apparently at some point after he got his law degree he did manage to pass the Florida Bar (not sure exactly when), but there doesn't seem to have been a lot of time left for actually practicing law.

Ironically enough, someone here recently mocked Ocasio-Cortez's degrees in international relations and economics as qualifications for a politician. A law degree is obviously more credible .
