Right. It goes to conference. But everyone went home. And the new session starts on January 3rd. So the bills are basically dead. They start totally new.

There is right now a full scale manhunt going on in California for an illegal immigrant accused of shooting and killing a police officer during a traffic stop. Time to get tough on Border Security. Build the Wall!

But you'd think his tweeting lackeys would make those tweets Trumpish, with spelling mistakes and crap grammar. Perhaps they have a hidden agenda? To make it clear they're not really Trump tweets?

I'm not sure what part it is of what I wrote that you are correcting.

There still has to be a single, agreed upon, common version for both chambers to pass before it goes to the President to sign.

I don't think that's happened yet.

Right now it's the House that stuck in the poison pill. All they have to do is take that out and it would pass both chambers.

Then, if Trump vetoed it, they could override the veto.

If enough Republicans had the balls to do that.

Just like it's hard to play a convincing drunk if you've never been drinking, it's hard to play a convincing idiot if you've never been one.

He'd have to rent a much higher caliber of ghost tweeters to pull that off.
 
In The Guardian's recent piece on Trump's secret visit to Iraq there was this passage;


Trump made the secret 11-hour flight on Air Force One with lights off and window shades drawn plus military jet escorts. He was accompanied by the first lady, Melania Trump, and national security adviser, John Bolton.

Asked if he had concerns about making the trip, the president told reporters: “I had concerns about the institution of the presidency. Not for myself personally. I had concerns for the first lady, I will tell you. But if you would have seen what we had to go through in the darkened plane with all windows closed with no light anywhere. Pitch black. I’ve been on many airplanes. All types and shapes and sizes.

I'd be interested to hear the opinions of some of our aviation experts about this.

I can see, maybe, how that might help when they were landing, although if things are that bad maybe they shouldn't be going at all, or at least not in Air Force One.

But that seems to suggest they spent the entire flight like that.

Is keeping the curtains drawn and the lights out really going to make it that much harder to see a 747 surrounded by a swarm of fighters at cruising altitude?

I mean, it isn't like any hostiles are going to limit themselves to VFR, and although the fighters' radar cross sections may not be all that conspicuous, there isn't much stealth to a 747.

This isn’t about the Wall, everybody knows that a Wall will work perfectly (In Israel the Wall works 99.9%). This is only about the Dems not letting Donald Trump & the Republicans have a win. They may have the 10 Senate votes, but we have the issue, Border Security. 2020!

The RNC merged with the Trump re-election committee and is now called Trump Victory.

If these guys would not stand up to him re-naming the party, they are not go8ng to stand up to his demand that he get 5 billion dollars.

As for Democrats fighting him, I am certain if one thing: never try to out-Trump Trump. It looks really, really sad and weird when other adults act and speak like an impatient, ill-tempered 8-year-old child.

Then again, that might be the core of the campaign. “You wouldnt put up with thiis type of behavior from your kid’s tennis coach, or a co-worker, or a mayor; why are you putting up with it when it comes from a president?”

Nah, it’ll never work. As was stated upthread, each of President Trump’s character flaws is tolerated and even defended when the goal is to upset the liberals.
