He'd best stay out of the view of firefighters. They might mistake the orange glow for an ember and turn the hose on him.

And his remakrs blaming "Bad Forest Management" for the fires did not go over well with the fire teams.

For somebody who claims to be so media savvy, Trump seems slow to realize that his Tweets in which he basically tries to backtrack when something he says or did blow up in his face often just make him look worse.

Mostly he is unable to see criticism.

Trump Tweets

"It is our sacred duty to support America’s Service Members every single day they wear the uniform – and every day after when they return home as Veterans. Together we will HONOR those who defend us, we will CHERISH those who protect us, and we will celebrate the amazing heroes..."

He knows his target audience.

"..... unless it's raining, and if it is, it's Kelly's fault".

This is like a grade school attempt at sucking up to everyone he offended with his petulant performance in Paris. All because the dumb goose thought it was going to be another of those big-assed military parades! "See? Mellie and I love the troops. We went all the way across town to visit some of them."

It's because he can't remember what he said last month. Or last week. Or yesterday. Or even what he said at the start of his current sentence. It all seems to be a constant flow-of-conscience from an unfiltered narcissist's degrading brain.

I've really enjoyed reading about his temper tantrums and his brooding since returning from Paris. His outbursts on Twitter betray some real, first-class suffering going on. Now, his wife has made him look whipped. His suffering is so beautiful. The reports that he's gaining weight and his health is deteriorating just make my heart sing.

Unfortunately, that's what a lot of his followers love about him. He doesn't act scripted or polished, he says what he wants to, and people can take it or leave it.

There was that infamous speech he gave, where he told the audience straight up that he hated 'Drain the Swamp' and thought it was hoky, but because he could tell the audience loved it, he rolled with it anyway. The audience at that speech loved it, even as they were being told to their faces that Trump was only telling them what they wanted to hear.

"Unless they're transgender, in which case we don't think they deserve to be service members at all."

"Last year, I signed the landmark VA Accountability Act to ensure those who mistreat our Veterans can be held fully accountable. Since my inauguration, we have removed more than 3,600 government employees who were not giving our Vets the care they deserve...."

I get the feeling he's worried about how badly refusing to honour the fallen will have played in the military.

And about the dissonant message being heard by his base. When in his darkest funk he must know there is always the risk that the tide of public opinion among his base could turn.
