2018 mid-term election

The number of voters registered at my site is in the 400s. I was the 73rd to do it by 9:50. The staff were commenting about how high that is and that voters are "crawling out of the woodwork" this time and that it looked like they could hit 100% turnout hours before closing if the rest of the day followed the morning's pattern.

The Berniecrab carries the symbol of communism instead of its scissor. Pretty clear. The word I chose was correct, at least not false, just carlitos apparently didn't get the joke or just tried to be a bit contrarian.

So, that much for some requested light entertainment.

My prediction is that there certainly will be no blue wave, and maybe the Republicans will win even more. Because there is no reason anybody who rejected the Democrats in 2016 should vote for them now. In this regard Garrison is quite spot on. "Orange Man Bad" because *insert lie, irrelevancy or exaggeration* is all there was. And given the large potential of previous non-voters, and the unlikeliness of them switching from "system too rigged to care" to "let's vote Democrats", I don't think high voter turnout would necessarily be bad for Trump. And if "it's the economy, stupid", well...

We'll see. Would be ok to be wrong again for once after all that time of being right... ;)

No, the word you chose was incorrect. In English crabs have claws, there is no alternative word. (Ok you could use the word nippers for small crabs)

Crab scissors are metal tools for cutting up cooked crabs before you eat them, as a crab Bernie would be unlikely to carry these.;)

Well ok, maybe that's why I didn't get your previous post on self-destruction. Ok, then I was wrong often enough for today and am afraid I'll have to insist on my election prediction turning out to be correct. Enjoy. :p

edit: In German the crab has "Scheren", which translates to ... scissors, so don't call them "Klauen" (claws) if the conversation ever comes up.

The "Baby Boomer Retirement Wave" is one of those "point where the crystal ball breaks" moments that's gonna be real hard to see what's on the other side of.

The Boomers are one of the few groups with enough size to when they act as a single force really tip the boat.

Actually there are a lot of reason why previous non-Democratic voters might start voting Democrat today.

- They may have been suckered into Republican promises, but once they were exposed to the realities they have decided their previous votes were a mistake. (If you vote for the republicans because you think they'll deliver on health care and found out that their promises were all bunk, you might decide to switch. If you voted republican because you thought "Trump will pivot and become presidential" you might vote Democrat.)

- They may have sat out the previous election due to apathy, but seeing the effect of the republicans have had they might become more eager voters.

Plus, its not only people switching to the Democrats; its also former republican voters who have decided to stay home because they were disappointed in what the Republicans have actually done.

You need to put on the Democratic thinking cap. Tax income past 250 000 as social security income. You have to give them something for that, but a lesser and lesser percentage. That way they pay in more than they will receive.

- Democrats have been championing the pre-existing conditions clause for nearly a decade now, while Republicans have been trying to repeal it for about as long.
