One thing we're seeing now is the 2nd generation of Fox conservatives. The first grew up in a normal world & was pulled into Fox world (like my dad). But they *remember* the normal world & can still pass in it; they know what tone & keywords to use. However …

... why RW rhetoric & tactics have gotten so crude, stupid, & extreme. Kids like Charlie Kirk grew up in environs where crude, stupid, & extreme were endlessly rewarded. It's how they gained status. Then they wander, blinking, into the normal world & expect the same **** to work.

What makes the whole thing even cringier is that, though they claim to disdain the MSM & pop culture, they are visibly & viscerally desperate for mainstream approval. (Just like Trump obsesses over the NYT.) It's like pop artists from the UK trying to crack the US market.

Kids like Kirk don't *want* to just be "big in Japan," ie, popular in the RW swamp. They want the approval of the elites they bash -- want it so badly you can see the flop sweat. But life in the bubble has left them woefully unequipped. Their lifelong tools no longer work.

Surely, you ask too much of him. Lets be real here for a moment.

How can he apply any critical thinking before he posts, when 90% of what he posts is nothing more than verbatim quotes from alt-right wing idiots with ****-for-brains, who live in the same alt-right wing bubble that he does.
 
OK, I'm going to go all CT on this one. The false sexual assault/harassment accusation against Mueller doesn't have to be the least bit credible. It's a win win either way.

Spread doubts about Mueller's credibility and harass Mueller while doing it - a win.

And, it presents another example of a woman making a false accusation against a man, thus spreading the sentiment: all women are lying, believe him not her - another win.
 
Strongly disagree.

Trump and his posse made exactly the claim that they had to protect Kavanaugh, because otherwise every woman could accuse any man any time.

But that isn't true.

The news outlets refused to just publish unsupported accusations, and instead started digging and coordinating. Mueller, having nothing to hide, had law enforcement investigate straight away.

And the result is an object lesson how false accusations backfire and strengthen instead of weaken your target.

Jacob Wohl is not your average Trump twitter fan. He's significantly below average. Let me show you how I first got introduced to him.

What we have here is someone who is very bad at making his lies seem even a tiny bit believable. Everyone on the planet (with the possible exception of Slings And Arrows) realizes that this guy does not have the strange fortune of eavesdropping on pro-Trump liberals in hipster coffee shops (except for that one time it was an inner city coffee shop, because it was about the Trump-Kanye meeting).

For Wohl's real claim to fame you must instead look at his dealings in the financial industry, where due to even more very obvious lies, he received a lifetime ban from futures trading. To the best of my knowledge, he is the youngest person to receive such a dubious honor.

But let's set all that aside and assume that Jacob has been mainlining Mentats for a week straight and came up with a halfway sensible plan involving a modicum of misdirection. Why, then, would he have the scheme trace back to him in very obvious ways? Why would he make himself the one cheerleading the big story several days before it is exposed? Why would he put his own image (through an odd photoshop filter) on the Surefire Intelligence website? What about his own e-mail address? His mother's phone number? Why didn't it dawn on him that all of this is super illegal?

He's just an idiot. It's that simple.

My prediction: Within a week, he will engage in some misguided attempt to save face by admitting to at least a few of the things he has been denying, with some cartoonish positive spin, of course.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he fled the country.

This article is broadly anti-Mueller and was written by someone with access to his yearbook

So, what does his yearbook tell us? Well:

  • He was the captain of the lacrosse team
  • He was on the same hockey, football and lacrosse teams as John Kerry
  • He stood directly behind John Kerry in a group photo
  • He had a thick head of dark hair
  • He sometimes wore a blazer and a tie
  • He was a member of the Isthmian athletic club
  • He became the captain of the football team
  • The hockey team on which he played was not successful
  • He played a lot of sports
  • He was involved with the Episcopalian religious activities of the school
  • His sports jumper had the letter "I" on it
  • The football team had black and white striped shirts

Damning stuff.

Not sure if it's been brought up but Mueller was Assistant Attorney General in charge of the investigation of the Lockerbie bombing. I haven't looked too deeply into the Lockerbie investigation but I know Mueller was accused of faking evidence in order to convict an innocent person. I haven't read Rolfe's book so I don't know what her opinion is on Mueller but by all accounts, the man is a liar and a fraud and shouldn't be trusted.

Read a comment on Face (sadly usourced) that said Mueller was on jury duty in a different city when he was supposed to have been assaulting the nonexisting woman. Also the floor where the assault supposedly took plave houses not rooms but the hotel's gym.

I oughta make popcorn every time I check on this story. And I don't even like popcorn.
