According to Wikipedia, Saudi Arabia plans to install 41 Gigawatts of solar within the next 2 decades. They are currently producing solar power at a cost equivalent to other generation methods.Do I remember correctly that while selling oil they are moving to a more renewable energy source like solar they can supply to local regions?Side note (and a bit off topic)... one of the companies that has Saudi money is... Tesla
Which makes Trump's stance on energy and the environment even more sad and pathetic. Here is Saudi Arabia, a country that seems to have nothing but oil, and they recognize the value of non-fossil fuels. Meanwhile Trump seems to be doing everything he can to promote coal and oil, tying the U.S. to dying industries.
