A belated apology from Fake News Network NBC:]

News organizations with professional journalistic standards offer up corrections when they are mistaken, just like NBC news did. If you think it's belated, you should have told NBC what your deadline was. They corrected within 48 hours.

"Hi, I’m NBC News! I accidentally took Trump’s speech and cut out the part where he was talking about Grant, and then I told everyone it was about Lee! I have NO IDEA how that happened! Whoops!”

Trump Tweets

"Princess Eugenie of York was a truly beautiful bride yesterday. She has been through so much, and has come out a total winner!"

"Hi, I’m NBC News! I accidentally took Trump’s speech and cut out the part where he was talking about Grant, and then I told everyone it was about Lee! I have NO IDEA how that happened! Whoops!”

You don't really believe much of what you write, do you?

All just fun and games, not conversation or debate. Whee! Let's annoy those other people!

Yeah, we get it, when Trump lies shamelessly and alternative media blogs make up stuff wholesale it's fine, when "MSM" make mistakes it's a horrible insult.

I'm happy to grant for the sake of argument that NBC News did this on purpose. But given the correction, it's not fake news. Fake news is when no correction happens. Call it what you will, just not fake news.

It's a whole 'nother level of badness when blatant lies are never corrected, and systematically.

Meanwhile, recall Trump gleefully tweets lies like anti-semitism (Hillary’s Star), outright lying islamaphobia from Britain First, his claims of 3 million fake voters (a lie he made a whole panel for),dancing Muslims on 911 he claims to have seen personally. All completely made up lies by Trump, mere fractions of the lies he has told Every day of his Presidency. None of them ever corrected, sometimes not even hidden.

But to Slings & Arrows the wurst thing evar is a corrected NBC report.

What kind of mindset does it take to get that way?

A belated apology from Fake News Network NBC:
"CORRECTION: An earlier tweet misidentified the general President Trump described as "incredible" at a rally in Ohio. It was Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, not Gen. Robert E. Lee. An attached video clip lacked the full context for Trump's remark. Here is the full clip."

-- NBC News (Oct 14, 2018)

I have already heard what he said. I watched him saying it. I don't need to see it again.

The use of one particular word might warrant a retraction from a news outlet, but that doesn't change the general tenor of his statements.

"Hi, I’m NBC News! I accidentally took Trump’s speech and cut out the part where he was talking about Grant, and then I told everyone it was about Lee! I have NO IDEA how that happened! Whoops!”

I’ll agree that there really is no excuse.

I do agree with previous posters that the president’s false statements are far, far greater in number than the media’s false statements.

Trump's interview with Lesley Stahl needs to be watched. Highlights: Global warming might be real, but it can all change back; scientists have a political agenda; North Korea loves me; the European Union was formed to take advantage of the U.S.; Russia probably conducts assassinations, but not in the U.S.; China meddled in our elections more than Russia; etc., etc.

:id:

Wow, how horrible! :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Meanwhile Trump is coming closer and closer into lying us into a civil war.

Democrats have:
- checks and balances
- healthcare
- immigration
- safeguarding the Mueller investigation
- no more taxcuts for the rich

The Republicans have:
- some Democrats are mean! Don't vote for them.

All I can say is: if Trump supporters are so scared of a Blue Wave, they should come out and vote on Nov. 13th.

What do you think of this one, Slings and Arrows?

Governor Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you’d better put a catcher’s mask on your face because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes.

-Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, Scott Wagner

I mean, if you're just gonna post outrageous quotes and nothing more, why restrict yourself to just one party? LOL

I get the feeling that if/when Trump leaves the White House, Republicans will "finally" see reason and talk about how horrible Trump being in office was. Until then, they will support everything he does.

The POTUS can lie about anything he wants. Especially if it is to protect the country against the leftist angry democratic mob. It's his god given duty.
