New SCOTUS Judge II: The Wrath of Kavanaugh

It's simple.

Because at the end of the day there's more at stake here then worrying about which social-political tribe gets its honor besmirched and comes out of this with the most points on its scorecard.

The Republican and Democratic Parties are not anyone's virginal young daughters they just caught in the hayloft with one of the local boys.

You don't need to be this emotionally attacked to a goddamn political party.

Yes, I know they weren't... they SHOULD have been.

No, they shouldn't. The alleged crime happened out of their jurisdiction. Like I've been saying all along, if Ford wanted justice, she should have gone to the proper authorities. Which are not, and never have been, the FBI.

Again: If Ford had lodged a criminal complaint with the police department that actually had jurisdiction, at any time in the past 30 years, that would have shown up in the FBI's original background check, and probably would have torpedoed Kavanaugh before he even got nominated.

Now Collins is going with the 'Ford is sincere but mistaken' excuse to dismiss her.

That's the reason I am going with. One way to look at is is that there are only three realistic possibilities - she is lying, she is truthful but mistaken, or kavinuaugh is lying.

Collins thinks people at the party who couldn't remember the incident is proof it didn't happen even though Ford, like a large number of victims don't tell anyone.

That's definitely not proof that it didn't happen. And it is true that a large number of victims don't report incidents. But what you are not seeming to take into consideration is that there are also false reports for various reasons.

Manchin a yes, Collins a yes:

Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh!

GREAT DAY! #MAGA!

Please explain exactly how Brett Kavanaugh will "MAGA".

I predict you won't. I predict you'll pretend that you didn't just tie Kavanaugh's judicial opinions to the concept of making America great again.

But you did. That's how words work.

there was no Federal Crime.

End. Of. Story.

C'mon, this is absolutely silly

The FBI were tasked with the job of finding out if there was any truth to Dr. Ford's allegations. They didn't even try - they were restricted from doing so.

Their investigation should have been wide ranging and allowed to talk to anyone, and to follow any lead - they were restricted from doing so.

Trump told the American people that the FBI could talk to anyone they wanted to; follow any lead that came up. He lied (although we shouldn't be surprised, he can't open his mouth without lying).

Ironically, Ford would have gotten more privacy and fewer death threats if she had chosen to testify to the cops instead of to Congress. And in addition to keeping Kavanaugh off the Court, she might even have gotten justice.

QFT, typos and all.

Oh dear, the I Predict game! that gives me the goosebumps.

The vote has already #MAGA, because it slammed the door on the Resistance types who were screaming for kavanaugh's scalp, and will energize the base leading into midterms. Any 'judicial opinions" he participates in will simply be the icing on an already DYNAMITE CAKE!

#MAGA!

That is untrue, and at this point totally irrelevant.

Enough People who saw the actual report were convinced.

that you think the FBI should have wasted more time on a 35 year old state misdemeanor is certainly your prerogative, tho.

Regardless of our politics the nomination and confirmation of a member of SCOTUS is never something we should be happy to see happen because of a technicality.

Interesting how many people on the twitters are suggesting that Avenatti's stunt witness really hurt.

what a dope.
