So, which character do you see the President as?

I notice this particular pic of the village people doesnt have the military people. Not that anyone would think stubby mcbonespurs would match one.

I'm hard pressed to name one where it isn't.

Do siblings of diplomats get visas if they also claim to be lovers?

I'm trying to figure out what you think you're gaining by trying this silly approach. I honestly have no idea. I hope it works out for you.

It's such a shame that nobody has invented some sort of device that could record sound and images. It would have been useful to have one at the press conference.

The bitch of it is, even the recording doesn't matter. Trump devotees will just take his word that it never happened, or that it was a joke or whatever, and ignore the evidence.

Yeah and just think about how bad it's gonna get when the "Deep Fake" concept really does make everything suspect.

As I said earlier, I'm really worried that, whatever the results in November, the losers will find a way to delegitimise the results, and hurt US democracy even more.

I'm sure there's a discussion to be had about this, but we both know it isn't that kind of thread. So I will say simply that something presented without comment can be dismissed without comment.

All I can say is: Ha ha!

From: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/02/trump-forbes-400-spot-tumbles-as-net-worth-declines.html
President Donald Trump's net worth has declined by more than $1 billion since the year he launched his presidential campaign at the foot of Trump Tower's escalator, Forbes reported Tuesday. The president's net worth stands at $3.1 billion, down from $4.5 billion in 2015...

I'm actually truly surprised. Not that Trump's net worth has declined. After all, much of his net worth is tied to the Trump 'brand', which now appears to be quite toxic. (for example, multiple buildings removing the Trump name). What I'm surprised at his that his net worth is still as high as it is. I can't see any new businesses wanting to associate with Trump (well, maybe a company that makes white sheets for KKK rallies might).

I also wonder if, in their analysis, whether they considered debt. (The suspicion is that Trump is heavily indebted to Russian interests, and his true Net worth could actually be zero.)

Including debt is why "net" is part of a "net worth" calculation.

Net worth = assets - liabilities

Hmmm... Net worth ultimately comes from two places, right? Investors, or revenues.

Either way, net worth is based on your assets, and assets are purchased with money. And money has to come from somewhere - either from the profitable use of the assets you already own, or from investors hoping to get a piece of your action.

If Trump is indebted to Russian interests to the tune of ~$3 billion, that's a pretty huge money trail. Where does it dead end?

Probably somewhere along the line:

Assets <-- Investors <-- Funding <-- Russians

Have the whistleblowers and investigative journalists of the world not looked into this yet? Or have they all tried and failed to get to the Russians at the bottom of it all?

This is a pretty unorthodox way to think of net worth. Investors can give you revenue**; it's not really "or" there. If investors give you revenue in return for a share of your assets, then your cash increases while your assets decrease, which would have zero effect on your net worth. Assuming you sold whatever thing at a fair market value.

** ETA - I should clarify that ongoing revenue is usually income from sales or ongoing business, not investment. Investment revenue is usually referred to as "capital."

Money is an asset. Purchasing assets with money would also not affect your net worth, assuming a fair market transaction.
