I really don't think Mills would go as far as making something actually capable of nuclear reaction. But then if it could make the Geiger click, it could help him with his charade.

Here is a recent publication on molten gallium in hydrogen gas plasma, similar to the reaction we see in Randy's video.

Synergistic interactions of H2 and N2 with molten gallium in the presence of plasma.
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A 36, 021303 (2018); doi: 10.1116/1.5004540

The moles of hydrogen and nitrogen absorbed into the molten metal per gram of Ga in the presence of plasma (70 and 140 W) at different temperatures were calculated. As observed from the plot, when the molten gallium is exposed to a 70 W hydrogen plasma, the amount of hydrogen absorbed increases from 100 to 200C, when absorption reaches its maximum, and then decreases consistently as the temperature increases. This temperature sets the limit where the rate of desorption of hydrogen becomes significant.

When the plasma power is doubled to 140 W, it is observed that for temperatures higher than 200C, the number of moles absorbed reduces; this behavior can be attributed to a higher local temperature of the Ga droplets, due to the absorption of the heat released during the recombination of radicals, which leads to a higher desorption rate. A similar behavior is seen for nitrogen absorption, where high temperatures lead to high desorption rates and therefore low absorption of nitrogen. The existence of this interaction at low temperatures is of great importance because it can lead to the possibility of synthesizing ammonia at mild conditions. The overall interaction of molecular hydrogen with molten Ga is proposed to be as follows: (1) creation of atomic hydrogen species; (2) surface adsorption of hydrogen on molten gallium, i.e., formation of Ga-H species; (3) diffusion of H or Ga-H into bulk; (4) recombination inside the gallium bulk; (5) surface recombination between atomic hydrogen in the gas phase and adsorbed species on the surface; and (6) desorption of molecular hydrogen.

Another paper on molten gallium in deuterium plasma, this one from 2002, also describes the surface chemistry. Nucl. Fusion 42 (2002) 1060–1066

Experiments have been performed in the PISCES-B facility to study the interaction between deuterium plasma and stationary targets of liquid gallium. Liquid gallium samples retain a very small amount of incident deuterium after plasma
exposure. The retention appears to saturate at a value of about 3×10^23 Dm−3, independent of fluence. In addition, the retention appears to be fairly independent of the temperature of the gallium sample during the plasma bombardment. Since the concentration of retained deuterium in the gallium samples is quite low (≈5 ppm), the total number of deuterium atoms pumped by a flowing liquid gallium stream in a magnetic
divertor is likely to be low.
The erosion behaviour of liquid gallium samples has also been investigated. At sample temperatures below about 500 K, the erosion rates are comparable to those calculated by Lazslo and Eckstein [16] using the TRIM model of sputtering from solids. However, as the gallium sample temperature exceeds about 650 K, the material loss rate is enhanced above the level expected from a combination of physical sputtering and surface
evaporation. This enhanced removal rate, similar to that previously observed during plasma exposure of liquid lithium [15], indicates that this unexpected effect may be generic to liquid metals. Although a definitive explanation for this behaviour has not yet been obtained, several possibilities exist. As described in [15], the surface of a liquid metal will develop density layer striations that can influence the sputtering yield [23]. The variation of these density striations as a function of temperature and their impact on the sputtering yield is not yet known. Another possibility to explain the enhanced erosion
results is the role of thermal spikes [24]. It has been well documented that enhanced erosion is observed in solids as the bulk temperature approaches the melting temperature, and this explanation is actively being investigated as a possible
explanation of the results for liquid metals reported here.

Both papers describe relatively standard surface chemistry processes. Obviously, there is no need for the hydrino hypothesis to explain anything in these studies. As I mentioned in my previous post, there are multiple simple physical explanations for the "brilliant light" observed in Randy's experiment; it is very similar to the other home-built plasma experiments from the youtube videos. These papers are more rigorous in their analyses of the surface chemistry and find no anomalous results that can't be explained by known chemistry and physics.

I think the most surprising thing about Randy's video is how simple and unsophisticated the apparatus and experiment appear to be. I would have expected that after 30+ years and $100M+ in investments, he wouldn't be competing in sophistication with youtube videos of plasma fusors and magnetrons made with parts extracted from old microwaves and refrigerators.

Well the idea is they are only after the most stupid investors, to avoid legal troubles. So they claims must be stupid and their videos must be crap. Same as with Nigerian letters.
Anyway this seemed always weir idea to me. Do people that stupid really have any money ?

Appearances can be deceiving. There are years of cumulative experience and brain power behind these experiments. You're judgements are superficial. Try looking at the experimental data if you want insight into what is going on, rather than judging by a twenty second video. Even with that video, you have little appreciation about what it means.

I'll instead let informed and appropriately educated and experienced scientists who have validated the process in person inform me. Which they have.
Hmm ... I don’t recall reading anything about gallium ...

Compare the article summaries in my previous post on molten gallium in a hydrogen plasma to the SunCell description from HydroCatalysis Rebranded (TM):

Excerpt of an ignition run of the gallium generation SunCell. A powerful reactor-filling plasma ignites with low-voltage arcs (sparks). The reaction gas comprises an argon-hydrogen mixture at atmospheric pressure that provides atomic H, and gallium oxide serves as a source of oxygen to form HOH hydrino catalyst. The hydrogen is required for plasma formation. The SunCell comprises a single electromagnetic pump injector that serves as a molten metal electrode paired with a static-level counter electrode. [...] the heat transfer to a heat exchanger may be direct.

From this description, the SunCell appears to have the same reactants (gallium metal is coated in a layer of gallium oxide) and similar conditions to these other experiments.

The end products from the SunCell then are likely just gallium hydrides and not "hydrino hydrides", which would explain why Randy hasn't made any samples available for testing.

The anomalous power measurements by HydroCatalysis Rebranded (TM) are not apparently reproduced in these other published experiments either. The authors of those reports make no claims that their devices are power-generating despite reacting gallium with hydrogen/noble gas plasma. The simplest explanation then, if you don't believe that Mills is a fraud, is that Mills is missing something in trying to account for the power inputs and outputs for his device. Still. After 30 years.

It seems like the world is catching up to to the Great Randino.

His quarterly updates are amateurish slide decks repurposed from previous investor meetings and are not actually quarterly updates at all.

His videos look like any other hobbyist plasma engineering project on youtube.

He is reminiscing over what might have been if only an old journal editor didn't have it in for him.

He is selling the property on which BLP is located as part of a downsizing exercise.

And even his pride and joy, his SunCell, is turning out not to be novel technology at all. Others studying that very same technology (e.g. molten gallium in hydrogen/noble gas plasma) do not reproduce his unbelievable claims or even claim to be studying power-generation devices.

I think it's rather amusing the contortions you are going through trying to bring Dr. Randell Mills down to your level. My working hypothesis is jealousy.

Surely markey is a shill? I can understand a newbie being taken in by the scam, but he's been following this for a while, he must know better.
