John McCain Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Trump killed a white house tweet praisng McCain for his service:

And the Orange Fungus finds a way to be an even bigger Alpha Hotel......

It's truly a measure of how severely disturbed Trump is. In a situation like this, it's almost reflexive to put out a statement along the lines of "Despite our differences, I always respected John for his deep devotion and long service to our country." Etc., etc. Trump just doesn't understand what is expected of normal adults. He is like a toddler who sits at the center of his universe.

I want him exposed for what he is. And the longer he's in office, the more he is exposed.

The thing is though, most of us have known exactly who Trump is.

I mean really, do you think it would surprise TBD to find out that Trump has cheated on his taxes for years or committed bank fraud or laundered money from Russia on a scale that would make Manafort look like a saint? Trump lies about everything. What would make anyone believe that he would be truthful when money was on the line?

He wouldn't even care. And neither would most Trump supporters. I expect some would. But their attitude would be they didn't vote for him because he's ethical. People at Trump rallies have been wearing shirts saying they'd rather be Russian then a Democrat.

Were I, a civilian, permitted to salute, I would do so with respect and admiration. Instead, I’ll merely offer a deep appreciation for the man’s service and the example he, much more often than not, set for his fellow countrymen.

R.I.P.

Trump's not going to show up. He knows he's not welcome. And as stupid and crass as Trump is, I can't imagine him wanting to go where he's not welcome. Trump is a wimp. Weak and desperately seeking affirmation. He couldn't bear not being the center of attention.

Also, his handlers wouldn't allow him to attend. Neither would the Secret Service. Being President doesn't mean you can do whatever you want.

There will be a memorial service Saturday at Washington National Cathedral, a short hop from the White House. If Trump orders the SS to saddle up The Beast, will they really say "No can do?" Trump has a history of showing up at places where he wasn't invited.

Oh yes they can and will. There are invitations associated with this. If you don't have one, you won't be admitted. The Secret Service is not going to barge in on Trump's order. The Secret Service is a protective detail not an invading army.

The idea of Capital Police (who I presume will be providing security) battling it out with the Secret Service is enticing though.

Then:
"Senator John McCain of Arizona has retreated farther and farther to the fringe of American politics, running a campaign on partisan division, class warfare and even hints of racism. His policies and worldview are mired in the past."
-- New York Times (Nov 3, 2008)

Now:
"Mr. McCain, who died Saturday at the age of 81, gave hope for the future. His example still does."
-- New York Times (Aug 25, 2018)

McCain was a true patriot and American hero, a man of honor and integrity. May he Rest In Peace

So that cartoonist that always makes Dolt 45 look fit hasn't done anything yet, I assume?

Thanks for your interest.

Seriously? I understand the cultural taboo on speaking ill of the dead, but all this lionization is going to far. 'Honor and integrity'? 'Keating Five'. Have we really reached the stage where corruption and theft don't even register?

Yeah, even I think the praise has gone a bit too far. I think the media (not-FOX) is just happy to report on something "not Trump" for a while.
