If I were in Mueller's shoes right now, I would be making duplicates of every piece of evidence gathered so far, and putting it in the hands of a trusted third party in case Trump shuts down the investigation.

Then if/when the Democrats win the House in November or 2020, Congress can reinstate the investigation, and it begins where it was left off..

This raises an interesting question. Who exactly would be the appropriate third party, to whom a senior law enforcement official of the federal government can disclose the details of an ongoing investigation?

It could be encrypted, I suppose, but whether this is legally acceptable isn't clear to me.

Perhaps an ostensibly neutral party? Say, I seem to have seen a few conservative posters right here on ISF who apparently are incapable of seeing any wrongdoing on Trump's part. Maybe sharing it with people who can't even see it would be the best way to keep it safe?

I wasn't thinking of disclosing any details, I was thinking more of sealing everything in boxes and depositing them in a bank vault.

If this sort of thing happened in Europe, a safe deposit box at Zuercher Kantonalbank, or UBS in Switzerland would be the ideal place... anywhere really, so long as Trump and his gang of criminals can't get at them.

I'm not sure there is anywhere in the USA that would be as good as a Swiss Bank for this sort of thing.

Again, it's not particularly clear that this is legally allowable, since I know nothing about the law in these matters, but it does seem plausible.

Other than here in Bizzarro World is there any other race other than h. sapiens where the leader of the most powerful power on a planet has time to concern himself with this sort of **** and not be tending to, like, governing and stuff?

I suppose we have parallels like Nero and Mad King George, but I mean other than in infamous nearly mythological times.
 
He seems to be getting more and more obsessed and irrational over this.

That is a lot of tweets for one session, he doesn't usualy manage more than two or three at a time, ittakes him about 25 mins between tweets, even between the parts of a 'two parter'.

He is the most profoundly unfit person to ever hold the office of POTUS. He has turned the presidency into a circus and made us the laughing stock of the world. At that, he's the GREATEST.

It certainly sounds like he's signaling that he will do just that. The comment in replying to questions about the Manafort trial is that it is sad that the government is prosecuting a man for bank fraud and tax evasion because he's a "good guy" which means being good to him.

If he pardons Manafort he's telling the country that the law doesn't apply to him and his supporters. There is a part of me who wants to see him do just that. The optics of that action is pretty damn bad.
